I couldn't agree more.

It is OK if your PG can score.

exactly, plus its Randy Foye and OJ Mayo we are talking about, they score because they can... not because its all they can do.
Foye can, and i assume Mayo will be able to aswell run the NBA point, having 2 oversized scoring PG/SG hybrids in a back court with passing ability is not a bad thing.

Re: is oj mayo that good?

Exactly, you need to look to make the right play, this is what the great point guards made and make. They don't look to pass first or score first, they are always looking to make the right play at the right time.

Like Larry Legend. He wasnt a pg but he could make the righht play at the right time. He wasnt score first or pass first.

Well how many titles did Maravich win? How about Arenas, Marbury? How close are they to a title?

I am not a big fan of scoring points to be honest. Well balanced teams are the way to go

Re: is oj mayo that good?

It always depends. OJ Mayo in terms of following him has never been known as a selfish player. It's not like he's an Allen Iverson type who needs the ball all the time. Or even Steve Francis. I simply worry about him off the court, because he seems to be anointed as the new media whipping boy.

I don't think that Mayo has anything in common with Pistol or Starbury. Unless you're counting the fact that he'll end up on a crappy team. Shooting guards like Chauncey Billups, B.J. Armstrong, Steve Kerr, John Paxson, Ron Harper, and Derek Fisher have all played the point for title winners. Scoring point guards like Tony Parker have played for title winners. Dwyane Wade wasn't the 1 in Miami, but he certainly ran that offense when they won the title. So, in fact, it looks like guards that can score the rock do in fact win titles on good teams.

What does the one have to do with the other? Rajon Rondo couldn't score on Lindsey Lohan after three eightballs and a quart of rum, and far from giving Boston a "well balanced" offense he forces them to play 3 on 5 on that end of the floor (at least when Perkins is on the floor). Wouldn't "well balanced" imply that all five players can score the rock?

I think he will average whatever he wants to an extent. He is a pro, just like Durant. He has no business in college and will be dominant, especially since he has a good roster with him.
