Josh Heytvelt
Has NBA size, length and athleticism. Was a top 50 recruit who redshirted his freshman year and then suffered a season ending ankle injury against UCONN in the Maui Invitational last year. He can swat away anything that comes his way with his lengthy 6'11" frame and has a soft touch all the way out to the 3 point line. Uses the glass better than anyone I've seen at the college level in a while. Nothing the kid can't do, the only thing that I think would benefit him would be to put a little muscle on his frame, but with his style of play its not really necessary for him to be successful. It might sound ridiculous to some but his game reminds me a lot of Garnett. Not saying he's as good as Garnett, just saying they play a similar style. He's virtually unknown right now outside of Gonzaga Nation, but he won't be for long.
Another player to watch for is Eastern Washington's Rodney Stuckey. He will be a lottery pick, book it.

Are you joking? Athleticism? I'm not seeing it. Will probably end up like another Pittsnoggle. He's nothing special.

Re: Josh Heytvelt
He sure blocked the crap out of Hansbrough. Josh looked plenty athletic to me. He runs the floor very well for a big man. We'll see how this year plays out (but the playing style to Garnett, I'm not really seeing it).

Re: Josh Heytvelt
Seems like he can do a lot - poor man's McRoberts?

Heytvelt and some kid named Marvin Williams played aau ball together a few years back, both were recruited together by Kansas and neither accepted obviously. Josh was a top 25 player at one time but his stock seemed to drop a bit after he committed to Gonzaga. I think he's a 2008 draft pick so the talk here is probably premature.
We'll let you retract your Pittsnogle comparison before you lose whatever credibility you still have.

Actually I was never comparing their games, merely their situations as overhyped good college players whose games don't translate to the pro game. Nothing to retract there.

Wow a 6-11 guy blocked a 6-8 unathletic Tyler Hansbrough one time. Gee, I guess that makes him on the same level as LeBron when it comes to athleticism.

Not sure how he is overhyped as probably half the basketball fanbase out there didnt know who he was untill the Carolina game, i think his game actually translates to the pf position at the next level a lot more than someone like a Josh McRoberts, Heytvelt can run the floor(as was mentioned) ,hit the outside jumpshot and is gaining more of a lowpost game all the time. Long way to go but he's had a good year so far.
