Re: Roy Hibbert

Yikes, he is going back. I don't like this for him at all career-wise.

I think he's delusional with the top 3 talk; the '08 won't be that weak of a draft. I could be wrong though, he could have a phenomenal season and shock everyone. It's definitely a bonus for college hoops, namely GTown, fans. The Hibbert-Thabeet matchup(s) will be definitely be fun to watch.

Re: Roy Hibbert

Wow.. suprised he actually withdrew from the draft.

Georgetown are loaded next year though, even without Green.

Hibbert,Summmers,Freeman and Wright. Solid

Re: Roy Hibbert

Hibbert's ability to pass the basketball for a center is so amazing. He understands the post, repost aspect of post play. Not to mention he is gifted throwing bounce passes.

Re: Roy Hibbert

I dont see it HKF. I tried to see that skill level you have been raving about, but I see a guy who isnt dominating college ball like he should be.

Re: Roy Hibbert

I'm telling you he has things you can't teach, such as passing, excellent hands, footwork and the ability to finish with both hands. The problem with the way you guys are evaluating him is you're looking strictly at numbers and not looking at how he plays the game. Hibbert gets his points by working for them, but the Princeton offense is not designed to feed a specific player, it's geared towards giving everyone equal opportunities on the offensive side of the ball.

You need to look at the rudimentary things Hibbert does well, such as passing in the high post, the ability to repost and gain inside positioning, recognizing the double team and swinging the ball, having great hands, holding the ball above his head on rebounds and not bringing it back down.

People keep saying he's slow for a 7'2 guy, but what 7'2 guy is quick in the NBA? I'll answer it for you, none that has any kind of skill. Hibbert will be a very good NBA player because he is not selfish and he lets the game come to him, but he plays in a system that isn't going to just feed him until the other team quits. That's not how Georgetown plays (they play a system).

If you want to know why I am high on him, reference the game against Oden, where he showed he can shoot the baseline jumper, the 18 footer, backdoor cut and drive to the rim for a layup. Maybe people should start realizing that top players are going to Georgetown and not scoring 20 ppg for a reason.

Re: Roy Hibbert

He is fundamentally sound and should go pretty early in the draft based on his skill and size. Dont think he moves well enough to be a top tier center in the league but should have a long career.
