Robin Lopez
I guess, the one with the hair. I'm not sure if i've seen such a talented young player get so little attention in here or any other draft board. I think we tend to overestimate and overhype a lot of these guys, especially freshman. Lopez needs a little more upper body bulk and needs to work on his post game but he thoroughly outplayed Spencer Hawes on thursday night and appears to have a bright future. I wonder if having twins playing together sort of detracts from the merits of either one.

Re: Robin Lopez
The Lopez twins currently are the most underrated, under appreciated big men that I've seen in college basketball in a long time. If Stanford only had consistent guard play they'd be top 25 team.

Re: Robin Lopez
The Lopez twins are great, but ill take Robin over Brook right now. Robin is a good athlete for his size, rebounds well, and can play effectively from 15 feet and in. Brook has the better low post game and shot blocking ability, but man he looks slow out there.

Re: Robin Lopez
The thing is, I expect these guys to be 3-4 year players. You don't go to Stanford to be one and done IMO.

Absolutely. If they had gone to different schools they would individually get a fair evaluation, but being twins at the same school is just hard.
HKF, yeah definitely. You're an idiot if you attend Stanford and don't get that degree, even if you're going to the NBA. As an agent or lawyer I wouldn't advise that, but these guys aren't Kevin Durant either.

Re: Robin Lopez
From what I've seen, I like them more as prospects than the brothers Collins. Like HKF said, I really don't see them leaving before their junior season; we'll probably have at least 2 more years to talk about these guys. Both should be solid defenders and rebounders, at least.
The twins I'm more intrigued with are Travis and David Wear - the 6'10 perimeter sophomores from Mater Dei.

Really? Do you think the same of Elton Brand leaving early from Duke and not getting his degree?

I agree with Nimreitz because Stanford historically does not recruit the same caliber of player as Duke, as evidenced by Casey Jacobsen and Josh Childress being the best Stanford players to go early to the pros, which was still three years after.
If you attend Stanford and you're an athlete, chances are you're really trying to get a degree. For one, it's incredibly difficult to get into (athlete or not), next if you're smart enough you can be put on an advanced degree program and graduate with your degree in 3 years. I personally don't see the Lopez twins as anything other than late first round picks this year, but after next year and possibly the year after that, they should be looking at the mid-first round.
If someone is willing to make them a lotto pick, I think they'd jump as well. It's just Stanford doesn't have a lot of history with players going hardship.
