Michael Beasley
6'9, 230lb F - Kansas State (HS Sr.)

Seems to have a legit inside/outside game. If Walker is still around and healthy next year, he and Beasley are going to be a ridiculous college duo.

Re: Michael Beasley
Walker will DEFINITELY be around next season. And now that he's injured he can really get a good start on his academics. I can't be the only person thinking Walker would have a tough time with staying eligible.

Re: Michael Beasley
Saw a Hoops TV feature about him and hear about him a lot from people I know in Fitchburg that've see him play. He seems like a good kid. He's a little self-assured, but he's very talented. He was playing with Gilbert Arenas, Caron Butler, and some other Wizards players and he looked very good in the post.

Re: Michael Beasley
Will be interesting to see where he fits in at the NBA level. He's not quick or skilled enough to play the SF and he is small for a typical PF. It wouldn't be the first time an uber talented high school combo forward ends up being a tweener.

Re: Michael Beasley
He was the MVP of the McD's AA game and now nbadraft.net has moved him to the #1 spot in their 2008 mock draft

Re: Michael Beasley
Michael Beasley is a straight up monster. He will do big numbers next year for Kansas State next year en route to becoming a top 3 pick.

Re: Michael Beasley
Probably a little early to be predicting him to be a top pick but he is a tremendous talent, he isnt 6-9 though, he was a good inch shorter than Kevin Love at the McD's game and Love is 6-9. The word on him that he doesnt take things seriously and takes plays and games off would concern me but we'll see.

Re: Michael Beasley
On draft.net they mention how KState says that the recruits are staying, but there has to be some way out for him. Either way, if Huggins isn't there, I don't expect Mike to stay. I think he either manages to transfer, to WV or elsewhere, or he could be the 1st elite prep to play pro overseas his first year out of HS. You would imagine that if he elected to play overseas, it would a huge story and would keep the spotlight on him all year long - help him solidify the #1 overall pick next summer.

I think this could be a smart move for him, but he would have to find the right situation. He would have to find either a Euroleague team, or a top flight team in Italy or possibly Spain that will play him. He can't afford to spend a year "paying his dues", he needs to find a team that really needs him and would play him a ton of minutes and help him get better.
