Re: Brook Lopez
Darrell Arthur...yuck. I wanted to like him. All the tools but no tool box. I like Lopez over him also but neither are top 10.
Beasley, Rose, Mayo, Gordon, Bayless, Griffin, Love, Randolph, Gallinari, and Speights.

Re: Brook Lopez
No way Smith, Love, Augustin or Gordon should be taken over him.

Re: Brook Lopez
Sigh* if only we could all see into the future, what a great power that would be. Anywhoo what does it matter if you think they are going to be better, GMs are going to have justify why any of those players should be taking over an athletic big with legit post skills. And no, there is no way Love is a better prospect

you obviously think lopez will be a better player than those guys, so me saying he won't be is really no different.

Re: Brook Lopez
Actually I am not saying he will be a better pro, I am just saying its going to be incredibly hard for a GM to justify picking any of those guys before him. I can see an arguement for Gordon, maybe Augustin but no way is Love a better prospect. I don't even think Love will be able to defend his position in the NBA.

it's not really that hard. love was a first team all american. shot 10% better from the field than lopez. he outrebounded lopez. he has more range than lopez. he's a better passer than lopez. you don't think that's enough to sell your average fan on taking love over lopez? not to mention that love could potentially be leading his team to a title and the fact that his team is in the final four will already be getting him hype from fans.

Re: Brook Lopez
Sell? The only sell they need is an athletic 7 footer, that runs the floor well, blocks shot, rebounds well and has a decent array of post moves. Love has had a fantastic season no doubt, but he is undersized, moves like a slug and is lacking in athleticism. All those offensive skills you mentioned really dont matter when teams cant run plays for him. The guy people like to compare him to on the pro level, is 3 times the athlete he is. BTW how many times do GMs actually pick a player because of what fans think?

you said it would be hard for a gm to justify picking love over lopez. i just listed a bunch of reasons why it would not be hard.
lopez is listed at 7' 260.
love is listed at 6'10 270.
i wouldn't say love is undersized for a pf unless he ends up measuring out at 6'8(with shoes of course).
and i'll say this again. in college, when a guy like kevin love is one of the biggest guys lopez faced all year, he shot 47% from the field. in the nba, where kevin love is "undersized" to play pf and lopez will be playing center, you don't think that will hurt his offensive game?
