Brook can be just as effective against guys his own size because he is a skill/finesse player and not a brute/bully type. You seem to be implying that Brook is going to shoot a lower percentage at the next level because he won't have a size advantage any more.
Do you think he's going to shoot <45% his rookie year?

I wouldn't call his lean-in banker over his left shoulder on the right block a finesse move.
BTW, is there a single poster here that's rooting for this guy? He's projected at #3 and literally everyone is calling him a bust in the making.

I am rooting for him to succeed simply because of what you mentioned above, but I think him going at 3 is too high.

it certainly isn't a power move. not that it matters at all. who evens cares if he's finesse or something else. as long as he gets the job done, he gets the job done. of course, brook lopez won't get the job done, so it doesn't matter either way.

it felt like there were people rooting for him when i was calling him a bust during the season. but now it seems like everyone has jumped on the bust bandwagon. it's because he's white. or i guess more specifically because he isn't black.

I found myself "somewhat" rooting for him yesterday when I watched mixtapes of him playing passionately and realised everyone wants this guy to fail so bad.
I'm pretty indifferent though. I just don't see anything special in him though, so I don't disagree, he'll probably bust.

He's as black as Jason Kidd is.

Re: Brook Lopez
My concern with Lopez was the fact that in college, he did the same move over and over again. I don't think we really know how good he is.

Do you really think people are rooting against him because of race? And if he's mixed race, as someone else said, so is Jason Kidd--you don't see people rooting for or against him because of it. Personally, I'm not rooting for or against Lopez, but I don't believe he's the third best prospect in this draft, and I hope the Wolves don't take him at all (because I don't think he fits well next to Al Jefferson), but especially not at #3.

Re: Brook Lopez
^Exactly. I just dont think he is as good as the 3 spot warrants. Besides that, I think he can find a nice niche for himself in the game.

Re: Brook Lopez
Brook moves good for a 7' footer but when it came down to heavy minutes against the Longhorns this March he looked slow and tired. He couldn't dominate an athletic smaller team in college why will he do any different in the NBA?
Compared to Beasley and Rose, Lopez is a huge drop in talent at the 3rd overall pick. Not so say he won't turn out to be a nice role player in the league but generally 3rd picks should have a higher ceiling IMO.
