DeMarcus Nelson
Wow, I couldn't believe my boy DeMarcus didn't have his own thread yet. He's finally stepped into the spotlight this year, and hasn't disapointed. Really is a great combo guard at 6-4 200 pounds, can handle the rock pretty well, lock down defender on the wing with great lateral movement, very nice athleticism, excellent rebounder for a guard, attacks the basket and finishes extremely well, shooting over 50% from the field, his shot beyond the arc has been a little off this year, but he is a pretty good shooter from long range, former McDonalds AA, California High Schools alltime leading scorer. If he was 6-6 he'd be a lotto pick for sure. I can see him going in the 20-30 range of the draft this year, maybe a little higher if he comes back next year. In the end I see him having a very solid NBA career, mainly cause he works so hard. Discuss....

Re: DeMarcus Nelson
He's a junior right? Let's see if he develops a few more guard skills since if I'm not mistaken he's been asked to play the 3 and even at times the 4 in his career at Duke until this year.

I agree if he was 6'6, he'd be a lotto guy, but I don't see him as a 1st rounder this year at all. Nelson's not a great distributor at 6'3-6'4, which could've salvaged his height detriment. I think he can find a place as a reserve in the league, but I just don't see a starting NBA 2 there.
Ultimately, I think he'll end up going somewhere between 25-45 next summer.

Re: DeMarcus Nelson
He's closer to 6'2 then 6'4. He can barely handle the ball. Is he better than Shannon Brown? Probably not and Brown isn't doing much.

Well considering i stood right next to him when I played against him my senior year of high school, and he almost looked me in the eyes, and I'm 6-5 without shoes, so I can tell you your statement is false. Also, "barely handle the ball" he seems to have a fine handle from what I've seen.

I was trying to think of a comparison, and the hassan adams comparison isn't far off.

No.
Nelson is nowhere near the explosive athlete that Adams is.

Re: DeMarcus Nelson
He wouldn't go first round in this year's draft. I don't believe he's even considered leaving this year though. Someone will give him a shot next year. He's also going back to work with that army/navy/marine/whatever guy that he worked with this past summer. I'm sure he'll come back even better next year.

Looks like you need to be measured again. Tall Tales I suspect.
