Nicolas Batum
Nicholas Batum is a 6 foot 8 inch Small Forward that is looking like a first round draft pick after his performance in the Nike Hoops Summit.

I think he looks like more than that. His arms are so long and he is so athletic that on a few of those dunks I didnt think he had a chance to finish... then he would throw down a thunderous dunk. We didnt get to see as much of him as most of us would have liked, but he led the game in scoring despite the foul trouble. Looks like he has a nice shot and if he can consistently knock down those jumpers he is a lotto pick.
He is on my radar and I cant wait to see him play again.

Didnt see the game(some of us actually work for a living) but he sounds like the best of the foreign players. Would have liked to see Ricky Rubio come over but i havent seen too many Spanish players in that game and he's only 16.
Thanks to Draftexpress for their running account of the game, top shelf as usual.

Re: Nicholas Batum
He looked to me like a little more athletic Diaw but I only caught a portion of the game.

His agent Bouna NDiaye informed DraftExpress’ Jonathan Givony that if the decision is in his hands, he is "99% sure" his client will enter the 2007 draft. Batum and NDiaye must sit down and discuss the decision with his mother before making it 100% official, though.

This is the same agent that got Sene a top 10 pick last year.

Suns announcers say Diaw is more athletic than Marion, actually having the highest vertical leap among Suns players, too bad he never uses it in games it seems like.

Re: Nicholas Batum
Batum seems like a Josh Smith when I watched him. Not that he has Smith's athleticism, but this kid was impressive. He's only 18? I liked that Israeli kid Casspri too.

Re: Nicholas Batum
He kind of reminds me of Diaw in his frame and body language on the court, which is a good thing for him. He's probably a better shooter, though. Best case scenario is that he's closer to Joe Johnson. Either way, Boris-types are getting 8m/year, so he'll easily be a top 15 pick.
Do you take him before Marcus Williams?

Considering he is entering the draft I would imagine he goes before Marcus. His upside is as great as any player in the draft and that will get someone's attention in the lottery. However, a team looking for a player to impact their team next year shold look towards Marcus.
Would I draft Batum over Marcus?
Yes
