Jerryd Bayless
Jerryd Bayless is a 6 foot 3 inch guard committed to play at Arizona. His leaping ability allows him to get his shot off over anyone. At his size, he'll need to work on his PG's skills under Lute. Hopefully he'll get that chance and won't be used just as a scoring wing. Of course, not playing PG at 'Zona only slowed down Arenas a little bit.

I know we have a huge Bayless fan on this site, so I look forward to seeing his comments.

Re: Jerryd Bayless
yeah his elevation is crazy. but i question his ability to run a team. He can be as good as arenas or better though if he has the same determination

Re: Jerryd Bayless
I have seen him play a few times and I know my mancrush has been going on for a while now (bless you cpaw), but I feel after two years at Arizona (and the team will win because he's a major upgrade over Shakur), he will be a top 5 pick in the NBA draft. He reminds me of what Devin Harris was coming in to Wisconsin, but he has more physical talent then Devin had showed at that age. His potential is very good (and he's not selfish).

Re: Jerryd Bayless
Is he a taller Darius Washington, or is he actually closer to an Arenas or Ellis?

Re: Jerryd Bayless
He's gonna be a pretty strong guard, but he's a fantastic athlete. Darius Washington was a very poor athlete for a top notch HS prospect. Could barely get separation to get to the rim and just wasn't a great offensive player or distributor.
I think he compares favorably to Monta Ellis, but I still contend that Bayless will be closer to a PG than not, even if others don't think so. The guy is very gifted.

Re: Jerryd Bayless
It's going to be a little hard for Bayless to prove he's a PG though, if per say he does stay for 2 years. Insert Brandon Jennings. I can see Bayless playing the position this year no doubt, but how's that going to work out when Jennings comes to town?

That's my big concern too. I can't see Bayless being a point with Jennings around. Jennings is the better prospect as a 1, if Bayless stays he'll most certainly be a combo 2 his second year. I know HKF believes Bayless is a 1 but I'm skeptical. He's not going to get much of a chance at Arizona to prove his PG skills unless he does it this year. I'd rather see Bayless as a 2 guard anyways, in the same way as Arenas, Ellis and Louis Williams are used.
HKF, what do you see happening next year in regards to Bayless being a 1? Surely it won't happen at Arizona with Jennings on board.

Doesn't Jennings come on the season after this?
I beleive Bayless will play his frosh year at PG, and then move over to the 2 when Jennings comes. I think that's how it's going to work out..

Re: Jerryd Bayless
I don't think he wants to be around for Jennings to steal his spotlight. From what I've been reading lately, it seems that Brandon is becoming less of a TJ Ford and more of an Iverson by the day. I'm not sure how those two blue-chip, score-first (if Brandon continues this recent trend) guards would function together.
