For those that don't know him, he broke the NCAA shotblocking record last season (6.5+bpg) while playing with Jose Juan Barea at Northeastern. He then transfered with his coach to Duquesne, where he and a few other teammates were literally shot on campus. James, fortunately, was only shot in the foot and was the released from the hospital relatively quickly. He did sit out this season; I don't know the injury will effect him long-term. From a couple of articles, it seems that it's not career-threatening and that he plans to play next season. One thing that sets him apart from undersized phenom shotblockers is that he has an outside shot. He shot 45% from 3 last season on 53 attempts, and 52% overall.
Besides any potential foot injuries, his age is also a significant issue. He'll be 24 by the start of this season, which means if he were to turn pro, he'd be 25 on opening day as a professional rookie. Regardless, he'll definitely be an intriguing guy to watch next year.
