J-Mychal's game is already mature enough to keep teammates involved, which makes his teams better. That's why the Housotn Rockets' Tracy McGrady is his favorite NBA player.
"I just like how smooth he his and how he gets all his teammates involved," J-Mychal said. "I always liked him, since he was at Orlando. He's talented and competitive enough that he takes the pressure shot. And make no mistake - he hates to lose. He'll take control when it is necessary."
According to the scouting service Hoop Scoop, J-Mychal Reese is the top rated basketball player in his age group. Reese is a superb ball handler, drives strong to the basket, and has a feathery touch from the outside. So it's no surprise that sneaker companies have been showering him with gifts, and Reese has been contacted by several colleges, including Arizona. What might be surprising is that J-Mychal Reese had just finished the sixth grade.
He's in 7-grade. Yet no one will mention how tall he is. He will probably be great, but that's still 5 years away from HS graduation. No reason to go nuts over him even if you are a recruiting maven.

There is an 8th grader that is s 6'6 WG already (LaQuinton Ross 6’6 Brooklyn, NY) on that list. I have heard of this kid before, from friends in NYC, but I doubt his final position will be a shooting guard. If he grows, he will end up being a PF. I mean he's pretty daggone tall. When Renardo Sidney burst onto the scene, he was a skinny 6'7 kid, but now he is a 6'9 kid who looks like a PF on the pro level (a perimeter playing PF) than a SF.
These rankings of kids this young rarely makes sense because the vast majority of kids that age are not on traveling teams. They are on local teams, but rarely traveling teams. Considering Nike is revamping their camps from evaluation style to more skilled camps (ala Basketball academies), the way we look at prospects is liable to change.
Well this guy could be good, i don't know if LeBron, Kobe or MJ 'good', but he could certainly be great, he just needs to keep his feet on this floor(apart from driving and jumpers lol)and fill out a bit then hopefully we will see him in the NBA someday|
