Top 10 pick on some boards. No where to be seen on other boards. I've only seen him in two games, but he's solid. a 2008 guy?

Re: Donte Green
He's actually better than I thought. Athletic, 6'10 guys that drain 3s on one end and are a legit shotblocking presence on the other are very valuable; especially so in today's league where there seems to be a premium on versatility.
From what I've seen, he reminds of Eddie Griffin - probably a little less talented, but without the unfortunate psychological issues. I think he's as good as gone in the summer and is a lotto lock; probably top 6-8.

Re: Donte Green
So how is Donte progressing?
One of the few players I have not seen for a full game this season.

Re: Donte Green
he is 6'11 he can shoot to the nba 3, also block shots and rebound..
he still has a lot to learn about the game but he can become what Eddie Griffin could've been
his ceiling is right up there with Beasley as far as SF prospects in this year's draft
Beasley is more of a sure thing though....

Re: Donte Green
This dude seems like a classic NBA underachiever. Meaning he has all the tools to be a dominator, but seems content to shoot jumpers all the time. I really believe that's how he's gonna be in the pros.

Re: Donte Green
He is my vote for the Most Likely To Be Jonathan Bender award. His wingspan is only 6'11", so what people think is length is just skinniness. Durant was a shotblocking presence in college, but that changes with the next step up. Obviously Greene has skills and scoring ability, but his bust potential is very high.

Yeah, for all that being soft (he is soft), he sure rebounds and blocks shots well. He might not be a shot blocking presence in the NBA, but the high block/rebound numbers indicate that he does have what it takes to make an impact in the NBA very early on.
I prefer a Rashard Lewis comparison instead of Griffin, mainly because I see Greene as a player who ultimately ends up as a true SF. Griffin was a PF any way you look at it - he didn't have the body control or skillset to play as a pure 3.

Hmm...Durant averaged 1.9 bpg in 38 mpg at Texas. He's averaging 1.1 bpg in 34 mpg as a Sonic. He played the 4/5 at Texas, and is almost a pure 2 in the pro's. I'd say his shot blocking tools have translated over quite nicely...
