Re: Richard Hendrix
He's one of my favorite college players. I dont think his game will translate that well into the NBA game, but he's a solid hardworking bench guy that could play on a team that lacks toughness and rebounding.
Averaging 19.1 ppg 11.5 rpg 2.4 bpg while shooting 60% from the field. His FT% is abysmal...

Re: Richard Hendrix
A legit face up jumper away (15-18 feet) from being a pretty decent NBA player.

Re: Richard Hendrix
He can't get any better going back to school, but there are too many early entries for him to crack the first round.
Does he stay in and start making money?

No. Workout and gauge your stock. Here from a GM that adding a consistent 15-18 foot jumper is what it will take for you to stick. He's undersized, but strong as a bull, a workhorse on the glass. Underclassman are pushing him down, but IMO, there aren't 20 guys who will be better than him once on the pro level for a myriad of reasons.
This could easily end up being a Charles Oakley type.

Do you believe he'll get many chances to shoot the 15-18 footer in Bama's offense? With Jamychal Green coming in as a Freshman, I suppose they could try putting Hendrix at the high post.

I am sure in the non-conference cupcake schedule, they will allow him to take a few mid-range j's, and maybe if it becomes a weapon, he will then use that as a pump-fake to get himself shots. I see David West and think that's who Hendrix should be patterning his game after, but I see him as more an enforcer though. Giving hard fouls, grabbing big time boards. If Shelden Williams wasn't such a gimp, he would be what Hendrix should aspire to be.
Next year though with the relative weakness of the freshman class, would it really be a bad idea for Hendrix to go pro? I mean what PF would go ahead of him besides Griffin? Gani Lawal? Taj Gibson? Jeff Pendergraph?
Kosta Koufus would for sure, but Hendrix might be late lottery, but sure first round in my mind.

Re: Richard Hendrix
West was always destined to be a jump shooting PF. I just don't see the comparison with Hendrix.
To me Hendrix is the anti-Stro Swift / Tyrus Thomas / Sean Williams. (sorry GT) Those guys are physical freaks that came into the NBA with unrefined skills, questionable heads and limited understanding of the game.

Re: Richard Hendrix
You are right that he isn't like West because West's face up game is truly world class. That's not fair from my vantage point. However, this guy has better mechanics from the perimeter than people think. If he can just be a threat out there, I think he can be a lotto pick.
I am also wondering what Self is going to tell his players. He might tell Rush to go (due to age), but try and keep Chalmers and Arthur one more season.
