Re: Russell Westbrook
Daniels is dunking on NBA players, Westbrook is dunking on college players. Did you even see Antonio Daniels at Bowling Green? There was a reason he got picked #4.

Re: Russell Westbrook
Monta Ellis? Oh really, I don't see it. He doesn't handle the ball anywhere near as well as Monta.

Re: Russell Westbrook
With the rate of improvement this kid has shown it wouldn't surprise me to see him improve across the board when we see him play again. He wasn't even supposed to really get off the bench this year. Collison going down forced him into the starting lineup at the beginning of the year and he performed so well Howland had no choice but to find a way to keep him on the floor.
Westbrook isn't going to be a carbon copy of Ellis. I didn't mean to imply that. He's going to provide a team with what Ellis does for the W's. Athleticism, turnovers caused by his defense, high energy, energizing dunks and plays, etc....

Re: Russell Westbrook
I think he will be similar to Ellis offensivley, but probably never quite as effective. Defensivley, he will be much better to Ellis.
I think he would be a very nice addition to the Blazers if they decide to stay at #13.

Re: Russell Westbrook
Westbrook is getting obscenely overrated, I hear people talking of him as a top 10 pick and comparing him to monta ellis. While both are about the same height and electric on the break, you couldnt have a worse comparison.
Westbrooks jumpshot and handles are both suspect, something that I believe you need to be good at on both categories to be a successful combo guard in the nba. I remember reading someone comparing him to lynsey hunter.
I really like that comparison, maybe a taller more athletic lynsey hunter type guy.

Re: Russell Westbrook
I don't see why he is being rated so high either. He'll play great defense, and use his athleticism to take his man. He would be a great fit next to a great 2-guard. I don't see him having star potential at all. Just a damn good role player.

Re: Russell Westbrook
As a Blazer fan, am I the only one who thinks he would be an amazing fit next to Brandon Roy.
Roy can play PG in the half-court set with Westbrook playing off the ball. Most of all, the primary thing the Blazers need out of a PG is great defense, which is what Russell provides.
Here are my questions. Can he initiate the fast break offense(Not finish, but initiate) and does he seem to possess the ability to refine a decent NBA J within 2 or so years.

Re: Russell Westbrook
westbrook has to improve his shot and his pg skills before he's an amazing fit next to anyone.
at this point he's an athlete on offense that can sometimes create his own shot driving to the rim and a good defensive player, but that's it.

Re: Russell Westbrook
Portland is the perfect fit IMO. I think they will look hard at him for the draft.
