Mario Chalmers
Birthday: 05/21/1986
NBA Postion: PG
Ht: 6-1 (6-2 ?)
Wt: 185 lbs
College: Kansas
I like his defensive ability and he has also become a very good shooter, however he is not a great athlete or distributor which limits his overall impact. I think if he is being put on the right team in the NBA he can help and become a serviceable role player. Thoughts on him ?

Re: Mario Chalmers
Will be a career backup IMO on a solid team. You basically nailed it he plays good defense, has a high bball IQ, and can shoot. He isn't all that great of a distirbutor or creator off the dribble. I like Sherron Collins more than Chalmers. Chalmers is a very good college player and is a winner.

Re: Mario Chalmers
Chalmers is the type of player that needs to play in a fast system that if he doesn't gets exposed in the NBA. He's not a point guard and he's a not a shooting guard either. He's just a small guard that is quick and defends. I could see him excelling in Denver, but then being completely awful everywhere else.

I agree; he's also an athletic guy who can defend very well and hit the open three. There's a roster spot for him somewhere, but he isn't a first rounder.

Re: Mario Chalmers
if chalmers enters the draft he'll be the 7th best pg prospect in the draft(i'm counting rose, bayless, augustin, collison, westbrook, and lawson). that's pretty crazy considering he's better than acie law who was the 11th pick and 2nd pg taken last year.
chalmers is going to find a spot being a good player off an nba bench. he's decent offensively, takes care of the ball, has deep range, is a good defender, has decent pg size, and is will and able to take and make big shots.

Re: Mario Chalmers
He's just a guard though, so he is going to have to excel at something. We all know he can't run a team, as he rarely handles the ball for that team. He is also pretty small too at 6'1. I don't see him being much in the pros. Sherron Collins is their best guard NBA prospect and I don't know if that's saying much.

Re: Mario Chalmers
He has been described very well already, and I was going to say he is the perfect fit in a team like Denver or Phoenix.

6'1 is perfectly fine for a backup pg. he doesn't have to excel at anything to do that. he'll play good defense, take care of the ball, and be able to hit shots when guys leave him open.
he's not going to be an nba star or even close to that, but i think he is an nba role player.

Defense. He can excel at defense with a little work.

Re: Mario Chalmers
Quite a few teams could use a lights out shooter that plays great defense at the one.
