Re: Wang Zhelin

Yes. The league needs another tall Asian.

Only 7' though? Anyone think he has 3 more inches left in him?

Since when does a big game against Eddy Curry mean anything?

Re: Wang Zhelin

Looks athletic like Yi Jianlian. Unlike Yi, he actually looks like he can score over a defender.

Good, the league needs to bring the big Chinese guy back. Was supposed to be Yi, but Yi was garbage.

Quote:
Wang Zhelin, China | 2014-15 team: Fujian

Wang made a major impression against Duke as a 17-year old when the Blue Devils toured China in 2011. He followed that up with a dominant 19-point performance in the 2012 Nike Hoop Summit the following spring. In fact, he was the best big man on the floor that day in a game that also included future No. 1 overall pick Nerlens Noel.

Wang’s first two seasons in the Chinese Basketball Association have been a success. The 7-foot 20-year old has averaged 22 points and 12 rebounds in that span. While not an overwhelming talent like Yao Ming, he would likely be a first-round pick if he declared for the NBA draft. However, there is no sense that that will happen soon.

Re: Wang Zhelin C - International

Wang Zhelin heading to NBA Draft?

Quote:
After the conclusion of the CBA, many voices around the future of Chinese rising star Wang Zhelin are chasing. The bomb has been pullen by Chinese portal Southeast Express, that is certain Wang Zhelin will take part in the upcoming NBA Draft.

The voice for now didn't find strong confirmations, but many teams are eyeing the situation around Wang and for this reason a possibile decision in this direction doesn't seem too unlikely.

Zhelin ended a strong season, averaging 21.6 points and 11.5 rebounds per game, but his team (Fujian Quanzhou Bank) stuggled a lot, finishing 10-28 in the table and changing three coaches (from J.P. Prada, passing through a caretaker and finishing with Aleksandar Kesar).

Four NBA teams are looking with interest around his future: Los Angeles Lakers, Memphis Grizzlies, Philadlephia 76ers and New Orleans Pelicans, Sohu Sports reported.

Zhelin has time to take a decision also because he can go directly to the draft in 2016. It will take a lot of time. The team told they won't make pressure on him and interfere in the affairs between him and NBA.

Zhelin is 21 years old, so he can leave CBA now without breaking league's rules (a Chinese player can't leave CBA before the 21st birthday).
