Nerlens Noel is a 6'10" 240 pound 18 year old freshman Center for Kentucky. He was measured with a 7'4" wingspan and a 9'1.5" standing reach. Noel won't turn 19 until after the NCAA championship game.

Because he directly followed Anthony Davis at UK, Noel was over-hyped coming into this season. He isn't the second coming of Anthony Davis. His offensive game is still raw, but he is a very engaged defender. At this stage though, he is a better off the ball defender than a man defender.

Was just tweeting about Nerlens and I must say that I don't see it with him. I wouldn't use a top 5 pick on Noel and everyone has him ranked #1. I don't see it.

Noel isn't Anthony Davis but he is going to be a very good pro. Noel is a pick and roll guy on offense, not a back to the basket guy. Crappy college point guards always hurt these kinds of players. He's too coordinated and athletic to not do this effectively in the NBA. If you can block shots and roll to the basket you will be good in the NBA. Look at Andre Drummond.

I actually like what i've seen from Noel recently. He has had a pretty good season, and has been improving. UK sucks because everyone else is trash. Goodwin and Poythress are easily the two worst "elite" prospects Cal has brought in at UK thus far. I'm not blown away by him, but I think he can find a place in the league, and could be really good if he puts in the work. He is a top 3 value in this draft on potential alone, which shows how incredibly weak this draft is.

He is very athletic and active. He is in constant motion on defense and is a great shotblocking threat.

Really? I thought he was the clear #2 in the pool. I think he can be a more effective version of Larry Sanders, and if that's the best I can do with my top 3 pick I have to live with it.

That's about how I see him too, but I want more from a top 5 pick. If that's really the best there is in 2013 I'll swing around back to him as we near June, but for now without fully evaluating everyone else, I think there should be better players.

He will have an immediate impact on defense for any team that drafts him. He moves so smoothly protecting the paint. Still needs to improve on ball defense with his back to the basket, but he can guard a faceup player well because of his great foot work.

Noel's defensive game is already very good, but from what I've seen he's incredibly raw on offense.

Can't make a free throw to save his life. He shoots a good FG percentage due to most of his buckets coming on junk around the basket.

I think Favors with less offensive game right now. I thought Favors had more offensive game at GT than Noel does currently at UK.
