This thread if for all things SciFi. I saw this article about the best opening credit sequences for SciFi TV shows and I just had to rank mine. My top five are as follows:

5. Highlander

4. Twilight Zone

3. Battlestar Galactica

2. Quantum Leap

1. Firefly

I've tried watching the first episode of Firefly twice now, and I just can't get through it.

Firefly is surely top 10 all-time when it comes to SciFi TV shows. It's not perfect, but it's very solid. The first episode is one of the worst in the entirety of the show.

The opening credits are pretty perfect, though.

I'm a diehard Firefly/Serenity fan, and the same goes for Highlander. Anyone else see Cabin in the Woods?

Cabin in the Woods was surprisingly good. It's like the filmmakers were simultaneously making fun of horror movies while also paying them great respect. The SciFi elements didn't really feel as ridiculous as I first thought they would when the people started taking bets.

Yeah, and the jokes made the horror elements even worse when they hit. I loved it, but it creeped my gf out.

And Sigourney Weaver was a bad ass choice for a late cameo in that meta role.

Yeah, that was awesome, and unexpected. The only thing that would've been crazier would have been to see Sarah Michelle Gellar or Eliza Dushku.

Did you watch Dollhouse, by the way?

I did watch Dollhouse. When I get time, I'm going to do a top 10 favorite SciFi shows with some detailed breakdown in this thread.

Fox never gave the show a chance, from forcing a reshot pilot to messing with the early episodes... and then when it was getting really good they cancelled it.

I had to narrow it down to just SciFi TV shows (maybe I'll do a separate movie list later). Even then, I couldn't narrow it down to any less than my top 16. It will be heavy on 2 shows (those should be obvious when you think about it) but rightfully so I think. They have been very hard to rank. More later.
