The team would be much healthier if Adelman played his bench.
What's wrong with giving Songaila 23 minutes a night (13 of Webber's minutes, 10 of Miller's).
If I was coaching this team, I would distribute the minutes this way.
PG - Mike Bibby (36 minutes)
SG - Cuttino Mobley (34 minutes)
SF - Peja Stojakovic (35 minutes)
PF - Chris Webber (34 minutes)
C - Brad Miller (34 minutes)
Bench
SG - Maurice Evans (20 minutes)
SG - Kevin Martin (6 minutes)
SF - Matt Barnes (13 minutes)
PF - Darius Songaila (23 minutes)
C - Greg Ostertag (5 minutes)
Wouldn't this be better for the team long term? I mean this is the regular season right? Then Adelman can go exclusively to his 8 man rotation giving Songaila, Evans and possibly Jackson or Barnes the bulk of the bench minutes.
He should be saving his players and preparing his bench more IMO. The key is not to play 10 guys equal minutes, but to get some guys at least some court time and keep the other guys fresh. I'm sure Martin would be fine with his 6 first half minutes a game and if there is foul trouble he'd get more in the 2nd half, same with Ostertag.
I just wish Adelman would see how these guys play, when the stars are out and make a concerted effort to have all of these guys playing.
