Shareef and Stromile off the market.

Kings management was looking at both of these guys but apparently Shareef will sign with new jersey, and the rockets say its a done deal with Stromile Swift..........too bad, it would have been nice to get one of those guys.

What now kings fans? Seems like alot of the big guys are already off the market.

Re: Shareef and Stromile off the market.

We got 3 bad PFs in the Webber trade. Probably gonna have to play them all some minutes and hope 3 bad PFs = 1 mediocre PF.

Maybe its not the best time to move our guys yet, but im starting to think we should give these guys a chance before judging them..

Re: Shareef and Stromile off the market.

yeah thats true, because they were just thrown together without practicing, given a training camp together they should be pretty good. I mean kenny thomas and corliss williamson played pretty well, and i thought brian skinner played really well for having to start at center for miller and play against guys like shaq and yao, don't forget about him playing with both thumbs sprained.

Re: Shareef and Stromile off the market.

I wasn't in favor of Shareef, he isn't what we need, and while I like Stro a lot, he would be a bad fit, he is one of the worst decision makers in all of basketball. That's ok for Houston, where T-Mac and Yao will be the ones with the ball, but not so good for us, where everyone has it.

The Kings are always really conservative, I suspected from the beginning that they wouldn't do anything substantial.

"According to a Western Conference general manager yesterday, the Nets may have dodged a bullet when Abdur-Rahim told them of his decision, but there still may be some subterfuge in the next few days. The GM said that the Trail Blazers are now trying to work out a sign-and-trade for Abdur-Rahim with Sacramento and a third team that would entice the free agent with a much larger contract, one in the $60 million region.

Re: Shareef and Stromile off the market.

OT: Looks like Geoff is finally steping up to the plate, if he can somehow manage to get SAR and Bonzi are lineup could look pretty steller.

PG-Bibby/Bjax
SG-Bonzi/Cisco/Kmart/Evans
SF-Peja/Kenny
PF-SAR/kenny/Skinner
C-Brad/Skinner

Re: Shareef and Stromile off the market.

I still very much doubt that we get Shareef, which is fine by me since I didn't think he would be good for us anyways. My money says NJ still gets him. Now Bonzi, on the other hand, could be a good pickup (or a total disaster)

We can probably go ahead an start putting Barnes as Peja's backup. And it seems Martin will beat out Garcia on the depth chart.
