The Offical Fire Rick Adelman Thread

this isn't the same team and I think everyone needs a change in philosphy and just to be pushed in a new style/way

Re: The Offical Fire Rick Adelman Thread

After watching the Kings play the Nuggets tonight, the one thing I don't understand is why Adelman has Shareef up at the elbow taking jumpshots? Shareef should be getting the ball in the post. Granted, to play in Adelman's offense, the big men he requires are ones that are multi-dimensional, having great passing big men ala Vlade Divac and Chris Webber, Abdur-Rahim is not an exceptional passer. So why keep him up top? Adelman needs to concentrate on Shareef's strengths, which is score in the low post.

Re: The Offical Fire Rick Adelman Thread

^In previous games they have had a better offensive set, with Brad in the high post with the ball and Shareef in the low post. Don't exactly know where that one went today. Maybe they were trying something new since the things they were doing before obvious weren't working well enough to win.

Anyways, I have always been an Adelman supporter, and I remain one, he can (up until now at least) always make a top tier offense out of what he is given, and the one year he had decent defensive talent, he got them to play great D too. If/when the Kings have to rebuild entirely with young talent, I hope he will be willing to stick around and we can have a team that is truely based on the high post/motion offense again, like it used to be with Webb and Vlade, unlike this team that Petrie has tossed together on the fly.

But, I certainly wouldn't be surprised if the Maloofs panic and scapegoat him. I mean, if they keep losing, someone will have to take the fall, because the folks at Arco arn't gonna keep paying all that money for those tickets to see the Kings stick up the joint without an explaination.

Re: The Offical Fire Rick Adelman Thread

I think Adelman will take the fall if the team if under .500 for a significant chunk of time. I'm not sure who we could get that would be any good though.
