Kings to open on road again
Quote:
For the third consecutive season, the Kings will open the NBA season away from Arco Arena.
Sacramento begins the 2006-07 regular season visiting the Minnesota Timberwolves and Kevin Garnett on Nov. 1, the start of a three-game road trip that includes Chicago on Nov. 3 and Milwaukee on Nov. 4.
The Kings, in Eric Musselman's home debut, host the Timberwolves on Nov. 6, followed by home games against Detroit on Nov. 8, Toronto on Nov. 12 and Memphis on Nov. 15.
Early headliner contests at Arco include the San Antonio Spurs, the winners of a league-high 63 games last season and bolstered by Tim Duncan, on Nov. 19; Dwyane Wade and Shaquille O'Neal and the NBA champion Miami Heat on Dec. 7; Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Terry and the Western Conference champion Dallas Mavericks on Dec. 18; and MVP candidate LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers on Jan. 9.
The Kings will appear on national television 22 times -- seven on ESPN, six each on TNT and NBA TV and three on ABC.
Sacramento does not play on Thanksgiving or Christmas, unlike in some past seasons, but the Kings will play on Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Jan. 15 at New York and at home against Houston on Easter Sunday, April 8.
