Vlade: What to do

After watching Vlade this year and during the playoffs, I think he's finally gotten too old. Especially during Game 6 vs. the Mavs, he just killed the Kings. It made things tougher since he had to do all the work inside w/o Webber, but still. I think the best thing for the Kings is to pick up another big man in free agency or draft a Center this year in the draft. Let Vlade come off the bench next year, or start him but only play him about half the game.

Vlade can still be effective, he's still a great passer for a big man, but I think he's really starting to wear down now at the end of his career.

I agree. The more minutes Vlade plays, the less effective he becomes. I've heard that he's being heavily encouraged to partake in a conditioning program to increase his stamina and prolong his longevity in the game. But call me cynical, but I just don't see Vlade embracing this idea. However, at this point, the team doesn't have a viable center to replace Vlade's starting minutes with, and I'm not sure they have the $$ to pick up a more seasoned Center.

Yeah, he's got one year left on his contract. I think they oughta draft a center, maybe a high schooler (James Lang, Kendrick Perkins, etc.) and let him come off the bench next year. Then, let Vlade retire or let him go after next year.

Actually, I think Pollard should start with Vlade backing him up. Pollard should be a very effective center if given the minutes. Keon should back-up C-Web and or the be 3rd string Center. Also, choose a center in the 2nd round. I doubt if Perkins or LAng will be available byt then (assuming you don't have the 25th pick). Maybe Slavko Vranes from Serbia. He's 7'4. But, I don't hear much about him.

Between Vlade, Keon, and Scott; there are plenty of cover at center. If Keon decides to leave, this will change; but for now, no need to push the panic button and get a big man who will just hibernate on the bench.

And the Kings do NOT have a #1 pick and Petrie does not want one. Especially since the expansion draft is next year.

All this, however, does not mean they should not do their best to sign Karl Malone.

Maybe, if you were a GM of a wheelchair basketball team??
This man still looks like he does not really know the simple basketball issues... like walking.
If you wan't a good center- Rebraca can do much better! he has been underestimated in NBA- believe me.
