You are the GM, what would you do?

The Draft is coming up, what is the team's pressure needs? Who would you pick if you are the GM? After the draft, who would you sign, trade, or release? You are the GM, what would you do?

If we have the 25th pick, we need to pick a center because Vlade only has one or two years left in him.

My thoughts...

PG - I don't know about anyone else but Bibby was a disappointment this year. I thing the Kings overpaid him last summer. Regardless of his injury, Bobby Jackson was a better clutch player this season. Bibby is good but not THAT good. I'm quick to pull the trigger on a trade but I'll stand still with Bibby hoping he will be better next season. Bobby did his job and did it well. He's a keeper - no doubt.

SG - Doug needs some help. If he goes down to an injury, who will replace him? Re-signing Jimmy is an option. At least you know what you're getting.

SF - Peja rocks but his injuries are a concern as well. Hedo should be traded. Even when he had the opportunity to showcase his skills due to all of the Kings injuries, I wasn't impressed. As a Bulls fan, I hear a lot of people wanting to trade him for Fizer. That could be an option b/c we're loaded with 4's. Let's say Funderburke and Hedo for Fizer, Dalibor and Hassell. Also, this should allow Wallae to get more playing time. He's quite athletic but barely gets tick.

PF - C-Web and Keon is a tight combo

C - Vlade and Pollard works for me as well.

With the 56th pick, I would get the best available. Duh! This years draft could potentially have quite a few sleepers in the 2nd round.

Line-up:
PG - Bibby/Bobby/Rookie?
SG - Doug/Jimmy/Hassell
SF - Peja/Gerald
PF - C-Web/Fizer/Rookie?
C - Vlade/Keon/Pollard

I would try to see what caliber player or how high a draft pick I could get for a package including Bobby Jackson, Hedo Turkoglu, Gerald Wallace, and Scot Pollard. There will be an expansion draft for the new charlotte team following next season so the Kings won't be able to protect all their depth anyways. Also Turkoglu and Jackson will have expiring contracts soon and will want high priced extensions.

With the draft, I would focus on the SG or C positions to eventually replace Christie and Divacs.
