3 game homestand! Kings vs. Knicks, Pistons, Suns
Justin Williams is back with the team, as is Artest.

Great stat line for Martin! Looks like Artest had a good one also. Though I didn't watch the game it looked like a good battle.

Re: 3 game homestand! Kings vs. Knicks, Pistons, Suns
Only saw the last 5 minutes of tonights game. Looked like Beno and Mikki had their best games as Kings. Salmons made a couple of big shots down the stretch.
Kings 105, Pistons 95

Beno Udrih is for real.
Discuss.

Udrih not only scores; he sets up others with driving ability
Quote:
This was, in every way, exactly what the Kings hoped for when they signed Beno Udrih on Nov. 1.
Yes, he was a scoring point guard, but they believed he also could find his teammates. And the fact that he spent much of the last two seasons on San Antonio's bench was no indication that he belonged there for good.
Beno's best was on display for much of Sunday's game against Detroit at Arco Arena, as he finished with 23 points and six assists.
"We now have someone people have to pay attention to on pick and rolls, someone who can penetrate and make plays for other people," Kings coach Reggie Theus said recently. "Roles change and situations change, and we should be getting better by getting (Udrih)."

With a good win over the Pistons with Artest should be interesting to see how the Kings do against the Suns.

Suns barely pulled that one out with a 100-98 win. It was a nailbiter going into those final minutes... Amare definately came up big for us. Your bigs (Miller and Moore) both fouled out, which hurt you down the stretch I think (I can only guess since I was "watching" this through ESPN's GameCast).

Re: 3 game homestand! Kings vs. Knicks, Pistons, Suns
Sun block ends Kings' comeback
Quote:
In what already was a no-margin-for-error matchup, the Kings had plenty to worry about without any Skinner types leaving the woodwork to make a difference. Yet Skinner's three-pointer gave the Suns a 55-47 halftime lead, ending a 12-4 run and marking the first sign that these teams were anything but evenly matched.
The eventual fall didn't come easily. The Kings trailed by 19 points in the third quarter and 14 in the fourth. But thanks to an 11-3 run, they pulled within one point on Francisco García's three-pointer with 5:17 left. Ron Artest's driving layup cut the Suns' lead to 100-98 with 44 seconds remaining, and the Kings remained a shot away when Suns center Amare Stoudemire missed two free throws.
But Artest – who had 33 points and 12 rebounds – couldn't do it again, missing a fadeaway 15-footer from the left wing with Suns forward Shawn Marion in his face with six seconds left. The Kings had one last opportunity with 3.1 seconds left after a Leandro Barbosa turnover, with Artest's baseball pass going to John Salmons. The Kings swingman went up for a game-winning three-pointer, but Stoudemire ended the evening with an authoritative block.
"I kept telling the guys the whole night that this game was not over, but you had to go out and take it," Kings coach Reggie Theus said. "We shot ourselves in the foot because every possession, every technical (foul), everything that happens in the game for us is important. It could've gone either way for us, and we had a chance."
