Five game homestand: Kings vs. Spurs, Warriors, Rockets, Jazz, and Clippers.

I'm going to the Rockets game. It will be the first game for Adelman in Sac since being dumped.

I'll be cheering.

TOUGH home stand for the Kings - I can see them getting swept easily in that series of games.

My guess is they'll muster 1 win - maybe 2. They catch the Spurs on the 2nd of a back-to-back and the Jazz the night after a game in which they host the Heat.

I'll say they win over the Clippers and Jazz - W's, Spurs, Rockets all walk out of Sactown with wins.

Re: Five game homestand: Kings vs. Spurs, Warriors, Rockets, Jazz, and Clippers.

The Game Plan: San Antonio (12-2) at Kings (4-9)

Quote:
Time: 7 p.m.

Where: Arco Arena

TV:
CSN

Radio: KHTK (1140 AM)

Head to head: Their one meeting this season left plenty of room for improvement for the Kings, as the Spurs held them to a franchise-low 23 points in the first half of a 96-80 rout at AT&T Center on Nov. 2 that wasn't nearly that close.

Spurs update:
Coach Gregg Popovich must be a happy man these days, as his defending champs are getting it done with the team-first tactics for which he's so well known. Although no Spur ranked in the top five of any major individual category entering Sunday, the team boasted the second-ranked defense (90.8 points per game) and second-best point differential (plus-9.1).

By the numbers: The Spurs own the Kings as much as they do the rest of the league, winning eight of the past nine meetings.

Spurs injuries: F Robert Horry (personal reasons, day-to-day).

Kings injuries: PG Mike Bibby (torn ligament, left thumb, out); PF Shareef Abdur-Rahim (sore right knee, questionable).

Probable starting lineups

Kings

No. Player Pos.

19 Beno Udrih PG

23 Kevin Martin SG

93 Ron Artest SF

33 Mikki Moore PF

52 Brad Miller C

Spurs

No. Player Pos.

9 Tony Parker PG

4 Michael Finley SG

12 Bruce Bowen SF

21 Tim Duncan PF

7 Fabricio Oberto C

Kings lead the Spurs 52-48 at the half despite Kevin Martin not making a single shot. Miller and Hawes are really shooting the lights out.

Miller, Moore, and Udrih all having their best games of the season tonight. Kings up 13, under 3 to play.

Re: Five game homestand: Kings vs. Spurs, Warriors, Rockets, Jazz, and Clippers.

Kings' Udrih burns old team in victory

Quote:
Beno Udrih grabbed the ball and ran.

He ran past Manu Ginobili, ran past Michael Finley, then ran past Brent Barry on his way to a layup and three-point play that all but clinched the Kings' 112-99 upset victory over San Antonio on Monday night at Arco Arena.

Putting his past behind him in the best way he knew how.

The former Spurs point guard scored a career-high 27 points against the team with which he spent his first three seasons, coming so very near to an only-slightly-serious prediction made by his former coach before tipoff. As Spurs coach Gregg Popovich neared the end of his pregame media session, he laughed at the notion that no one had asked him about the former player who he so often conflicted with.

"That's all right," Popovich said. "Come talk to me about him after he scores 30 (points)."

Udrih nearly did it, hitting 8 of 12 shots and 9 of 9 free throws while running a Kings offense that shot 55.1 percent from the floor. Kings small forward Ron Artest also had 20 points, and Mikki Moore and Brad Miller had 17 apiece as the Kings improved to 5-2 at home and the defending champion Spurs lost for just the third time this season.

The last sign that it was, in fact, the Kings' night came with 5:12 left in the fourth quarter, when a fadeaway 18-footer from the left side by Artest put the Kings up 99-89. Artest had held the ball while the shot clock wound down, with the Kings' coaching staff screaming for him to shoot. The ball was a mere inch out of his hand when the buzzer sounded, but the Kings had continued to hold off the Spurs by exactly that much.

Tonight's game: Golden State (6-7) at Kings (5-9)

Quote:
Time: 7 p.m. Where: Arco Arena

TV: 10; Radio: KHTK (1140 AM), KNBR (680 AM)

Head to head:
The Warriors have won 10 of the last 15 meetings, taking the lead in the rivalry for the first time in nearly a decade.

Warriors update:
They can relate to the Kings, having lost small forward Stephen Jackson to a seven-game suspension to start the season, as the Kings did with Ron Artest. The Warriors, though, have turned it around more impressively, going 5-1 since his return and breaking Phoenix's eight-game winning streak Monday. Jackson, whose suspension stemmed from an off-court incident just as Artest's had, is averaging 22.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists.

Warriors injuries: G Troy Hudson (left hip inflammation, out).

Kings injuries: PG Mike Bibby (torn ligament, left thumb, out); PF Shareef Abdur-Rahim (sore right knee, questionable).

Probable starting lineups

Kings

19 Beno Udrih PG
23 Kevin Martin SG
93 Ron Artest SF
33 Mikki Moore PF
52 Brad Miller C

Warriors

5 Baron Davis PG
7 Kelenna Azubuike SG
1 Stephen Jackson SF
3 Al Harrington PF
15 Andris Biedrins C

Re: Five game homestand: Kings vs. Spurs, Warriors, Rockets, Jazz, and Clippers.

Kings were up 96-92, got 3 or 4 straight stops on D, but couldn't close it out.

Kings frazzled at the finish: Sacramento sinks only 2 shots in fourth quarter, loses to Warriors
