Kings rally to beat Grizzlies

Despite scoring droughts and an uneven defensive performance, the Kings were solid when it mattered, beating the Memphis Grizzlies 116-113 Thursday night at Arco Arena.

John Salmons finished with 28 points, Beno Udrih had 25 points, and Brad Miller and Francisco Garcia had 22 points each for the Kings.

The Kings won their second consecutive home game, battling back from a 97-87 deficit with 6:47 remaining to come within 106-105 with just under two minutes to go.

The Kings lost Mikki Moore with 1:58 left after he fouled Michael Conley, who sank both free throws for a 108-105 Grizzlies lead. Garcia made two free throws to bring the Kings within 108-107 with 1:05 remaining, but Memphis sank its 13th three-pointer, this one by Rudy Gay with 46.4 seconds left.

Miller and Salmons missed three-pointers before Salmons drove the lane for a basket. The Kings' Quincy Douby then scored, but with the clock running down, the Kings were forced to foul Conley, who converted 1 of 2 from the free-throw line with 18 seconds remaining.

After a timeout, Salmons kicked out the ball to Garcia for a three-pointer and a 114-113 Kings lead with 7.9 seconds left. Gay turned over the ball on the baseline with 2.8 seconds to go to give the Kings the advantage. Miller sank two free throws to close out the game.
