Bibby and Artest are back Wednesday vs. the Raptors

Kings could have full roster by Wednesday

Quote:
Ron Artest made his way around the arc, sinking three-pointers with ease at a Monday morning shootaround.

"It felt good," Artest said, his breath audible following his first full practice since having surgery on his right elbow Jan. 2. "It feels real good."

So good, in fact, that Artest said he will join Mike Bibby on Wednesday as both return from injuries at the start of a three-game road trip.

Monday marked Artest's first practice back to the Kings. It was also the first time he could shoot with his right hand again.

"I practiced the whole time," Artest said. "I had no swelling. I'm two weeks ahead of schedule. I'm not rusty or anything. I just have to get my legs back under me. But I'm looking forward to it. I can't wait to get back with my team."

Coach Reggie Theus said he still can't believe he'll actually have his entire roster together for the first time this season.

"Beno (Udrih) walked up to me today and said 'Coach, it's kind of nice to have everyone on the floor,' " Theus said. "It's nice to be so close to having everyone back. It's exciting in many ways."

Theus said Artest was technically cleared to play Monday, but that team doctors wanted to be sure there would be no swelling after shooting. The Kings coach also clarified that his position on players returning from injuries hasn't changed. Artest and Bibby will come off the bench, just like Kevin Martin did, Theus said.

Bibby has long targeted Wednesday's game in Toronto for his return from a torn ligament in his left hand. Artest said he likes the idea of returning the same day as Bibby.

"That will be nice," Artest said.

If this doesnt smell 'Showcase', i dunno what does. Obviously looking to get their values up a month before the deadline...will be interesting to see who bites.

Id take Artest in Miami - thats for sure.

Miami has shown an interest in both players in the past but is believed to be more focused on Artest at the moment.

Hopefully, Miami (or any other team) will bite early, I would hate to see Udrih, Garcia and Salmons sitting while Kings showcase Bibby and Artest. Sadly, only one of them is expected to be available...

Re: Bibby and Artest are back Wednesday vs. the Raptors

After the 1st quarter against the Raptors, Bibby, in his season debut, has 6 points on 2/3 shooting (2 threes), as well as rebounds and a turnover.

Artest has yet to take a shot, but has a rebound and an assist.

Kings are winning 28-22.
