Great move giving this guy a chance. I loved watching him over his career. He was some player when he was a Blazer. This guys knows how to play the game the right way and that will translate into him being a fine coach. I wish him and your Kings luck with this move.

Point guards kind of run the team so that gives him a little more experience. Does anyone know how much money he will make next year compared to his last year of playing?

I assume that the hiring of Porter is to lure Bibby into taking a smaller salary and not leaving for another team, because Porter could teach Bibby some stuff about PG's?

I don't really think it had much to do with Bibby. I read that Porter wanted to be reunited with his former coach (Adelman). He should be a good assistant although I don't think it can get much better then Pete Correll.
