ESPN reports a salary cap of $43.9 million for 2004-05

From ESPN.com

OK, they're jumping the gun a bit, but if this is true, it confirms what many have been saying for the past couple of months about the salary cap not increasing this year.

An increase from $43.84 million to $43.9 million.

And Chad Ford is right - this could "screw up" some of the initial offers that have been made. He doesn't mention the Spurs, but I think they'll have to revise some of their offers if they want to get Ginobili and Bowen and Barry signed tomorrow.

But, yes, this news hurts the Clipper's efforts to get Kobe most of all.
