And it doesn't phase the owner one bit. But after this season they'll lose alot of their payroll with Penny and AD, not to mention insurance will cover the majority of Houstons contract aswell. Though its scary to think Marbury will be earning 18,20,22 mill for the next 3 years.

Re: Team with the best
The Charlotte Bobcats are in by far the best financial position of any team.

Re: Team with the best
Depends on what you mean by "financial position"
If you mean the team with the most cap flexibility, that's Atlanta.
If you mean the team with the greatest profit margin, that's Chicago.
If you mean the team with the greatest sale value, that's the Lakers.

How can you say Atlanta has more cap flexibility than the Bobcats when Atlanta has just under $40 mil in guaranteed contracts on the books with only Collier, Delk, and Harrington being free agents next season? Charlotte is just over $31 mil this season. Next season they will have a full salary cap to work with for the first time in franchise history and only 8 players under contract.

Atlanta has more cap space in 2005-06 than Charlotte ($19 million vs. $4 million). Right now, Atlanta has less committed salary in 2006-07 than Charlotte ($19 million vs $26 million). But that doesn't give them more cap flexibility?

According to your own salary cap website, Atlanta has $31.51 mil committed for next year and Charlotte has only $26.78 mil.
