Will cap space & ending contracts have less value next year?
End of an era?
If it happens as expected, this will be the last year the lxury tax is implemented.
Utah absolutely cleaned up this season by facilitating deals with teams that wanted to avoid/reduce the tax hit. If there's no tax expected next year, will teams with cap/ending contracts recieve as much as Utah did this year?
Does this mean that having talent will once again be more important than being able to help financially(relative to the past few years)?
I hope so. I've tried (mostly unsuccessfully) to factor $ issues into my thinking and stupid trade proposals because it's necessary to be realistic but I haven't really enjoyed it. It's sad when human capital is considered a bad thing.

''I told Jamal the situation is totally different,'' Paxson said. ''When Jay was selected with the second pick of the draft, all expectations were that he was going to be the starter.
''That's not the case this time around. Kirk's a complimentary player, although I do believe he'll be a starter eventually in this league.''
