I know, I know. Game threads are supposed to go up before the game. I forgot to do it last night and didn't have enough time during the day.
You don't win many games in the NBA when you shoot 33% from the field. Luckily, our offensive rebounding was huge tonight, we actually made free throws, and best of all we finally got some excellent production from Finley!!!
Timmy D finished with 21 points, 14 rebounds, 9 assists, 3 blocks, and a steal. For the second consecutive game he misses a triple-double by one stat. Great momentum builder to start the rodeo road trip.
San Antonio Spurs - 96
Los Angeles Lakers - 94
Final - OT

hopefully a momentum builder..as well as some great 4th qter and OT play. our defense was near perfect and our ball movement was good. not alot of teams can beat a playoff caliber team shooting 33 percent. as for the manu on the bench move..pop said he will continue to start barry so manu can be more agressive and be the main option once duncan and or parker take a rest and it will help barry and finely to get there groove back. i like it because it allows us to have a great player that comes of the bench and we dont have to live and die by our bench's 3pt shot cause manu can drive.

Why did Pop pick Barry over Finley to start at SG?
Manu would be a GREAT guy coming off the bench with his instant-on offense, but Finley needs his playing time to ease into the game. If Pop let Finley start, he'll warm up and become an efficient scorer earlier in the game....
I guess Pop has his reasons.... defensively.

Pop thinks that Barry playing together with the starting unit will create more opportunities for wide open three pointers. Defense certainly isn't Barry's strong point.
