The same reason Pop has done it the past 2-3 seasons - it brings a big spark off the bench. Before the All-Star break the bench was contributing practically nothing. With Manu coming off the bench they have been revitalized. Manu is playing better off the bench and making the other bench players around him better. He pretty much plays the same amount of minutes but I think he defers less to Tony/Tim this way. He basically runs the offense when he comes off the bench.

yeah when you put it that way it makes sense, too bad he started alot of games so he can't be the best 6th player

He can actually. He has started in 36 games this year and has come off the bench in 22 games. If he comes off the bench in the remaining 19 games then he will be eligible for the award.

I really have no idea. I wish I was in Pop's inner circle but I'm not.

I can tell you that he hasn't said anything about putting Manu back in the starting lineup. It will probably happen in the playoffs when he will be playing more minutes but I doubt they move him during the regular season.

Yeah LOF is right, this isn't the first time Pop has benched Manu to get that punch off the bench, he's done at at different points for the last 2-3 years.

And I don't think the idea to put your slashing, energetic scorer first off the bench started with Ben Gordon.
