I know we have Larry Bird rights on Flip, as he was signed to a 3 year contract. Not sure if he's 'restricted' or not, but I can check...

The current CBA provides restricted free agency on a limited basis. It is allowed following the fourth year of rookie "scale" contracts for first-round draft picks (see question number 38 ). It is also allowed for all veteran free agents who entered the NBA in 98-99 or later, who have been in the league three or fewer seasons (however, first round draft picks are unrestricted free agents following their third season if their team does not exercise their option to extend their rookie scale contract for the fourth season). All other free agency is limited to unrestricted free agency.

From the way I understand it we have ROFR rights (which all second round picks have but you can normally bust if you offer more than the MLE because teams only have 'mini-bird' rights) but because he was signed to a three year deal we will ahve full bird rights to him as long as we do not renounce his rights which will cost us 1.5X his 2004 salary or about 1 million in cap space going into the season.

Ok, thanks.
I don't see Flip getting a larger than MLE offer, but I could see him ending up with a contract similar to the one Marquis Daniels got. He's young and he can score, someone will pay him. If Ray is resigned, then I don't see much of a future here for him (unless we can somehow get him back cheap). So I think Flip and Vladi both become tradebait around the deadline...

Nice job by everyone of just skipping over the part where I mention that you just spend money on Murray instead of Johnson.

Just keep your mouth shut if you don't know what you are talking about.
Poor on ball defender`? ROFL
Defense is probably his best asset and he is the best defender on the Suns team and guards 1-3 and small 4s sometimes.
Maybe you should have listened to your OWN radio announcers when he shut down Ray Allen since they were raving about him all game long.

22, 6 and 7 is shutting him down over the three games the teams played last year? Especially when you consider the first of these games was his first back from injury and he was limited to 24 minutes (12 under his season averages....)
Point!
How many games did he lead his team to winning again last year? Especially considering that since he 'shut down' Allen and Marion is better than Lewis and Amare was better than any Sonic front court player that should not have been close right? Oh yeah, and was the the Suns record against hte Supes with Ray in the lineup?
Pfft.

Good post, but still pathetic. Sorry, I have a personal agenda against something in green color. I hate the Sonics.
Yeah, Amare, STFU man, Joe Johnson sux.. lol, The hawks, the Bobcats wont throw money at Joe Johnson for sure!
Not a highprofile guy that can generate profit for the team, and he is just pain sux!

Haha your funny. Joe Johnson is better than Vince Carter and Chris Bosh combined
Joe Johnson does not suck he could easily start for any team right now.
