$70M is not the max

On a 7 year deal its like $7M starting with 12.5% raises

$7M is probably his fair market worth that he will not get.

Lewis would have to be the stupidest player in a very long time to take far less money and have far less playing tim ein Dallas than to stay in Seattle.

If he signed with Dallas, he would get less PT and doing so, his numbers would go way down. He would become an 'energy' guy off the bench. And if he would want to leave Dallas after that, his value would be at a very all time low and he would probably get less money yet.

Lewis is afriad to go inside, he is a perimeter scorer. Why would being that help Dallas any?

Mark Cuban wants to sign Lewis to a cheap contract so he can THEN turn around and trade him for a big man. If Lewis DOES sign with the Mavs, don't expect him to play more than half a season in Dallas. Rashard Lewis at $4.5 mil is an INCREDIBLY desirable commodity, LOTS of teams will want that guy at that price, and Cuban knows it.

seems like the houston scenario maybe possible still too. Since signing talks have not made any progress, it seems lewis will at least give them a sign and trade so that they don't lose totally. Griffin for Lewis would be a good trade but Griffin looked really good at times and Mo Taylor doesn't have enough heart to play in the west...and his contract is ridiculous.. but they do have 3 pretty good PFs so it makes sense to deal with houston...

if houston is able to get rid of Mo's contract... damn watch out, Ming is not gonna be great at first.. but even so, it would be a good nucleus of Francis, Mobley, lewis, griffin, and Ming...
but that won't happen

would houston give in and trade griffin for lewis? no way... would seattle give in and trade for Mo Talyor?.... thats a little more possible since seattle is stupid but.... i dunno...
i don't see lewis going to Mavs... but definitely somewhere else.
