Congrats on Durant or Oden (merged)
Way to go NW. Hopefully this helps keep the Sonics in Seattle

Congrats Sonics fans. I predicted before the lottery that Seattle would get a great pick. #2 is pretty damn good.

Which city Durant likes more? Oklahoma City or Las Vegas?

Re: Congrats on Durant or Oden
Wait I still don't understand how getting Durant helps keep the Sonics in Seattle.
Hasn't the taxpayers voted to not renovate the arena already?
Isn't there only one more year on the contract? Then that guy can move the Sonics to whatever he wants?
Ahhhh!!!!
I'm buying a Durant jersey.

Re: Congrats on Durant or Oden
We have not heard the last on a potential arena deal yet. Around here in King County, things like arena deals don't get done until the last minute.

Re: Congrats on Durant or Oden
Thanks for your congratulations everyone
And congrats to the Blazers as well, this should hopefully make the rivalry more interesting as both teams should be in the playoffs next year and possibly even contenders.
As for Rashard Lewis staying a Sonic, I say it's still possible. They might go Phoenix Sun's style and start two forwards. A lineup like...
PG - Ridnour/Watson
SG - Allen/Wilkins
SF - Durant/Lewis
PF - Lewis/Wilcox
C - Swift/Collison/Sene
would be a nice run-n-gun style that could work. Lewis is 6'10'', so he certainly has the height to play the PF position. Of course he isn't as tough as a lot of big men, but he is stronger than people think and he does have a formidable post game to compliment his outside touch. He wouldn't even be a full-time PF, as he would get minutes backing up Durant as well. I think employing the "put the best players out there" approach is better than being obsessed with having a PG/SG/SF/PF/C. What happened to the days of 2 guards, 2 forwards, and a center?

Danny Fortson in reference to the anonymous Sonic who tattle taled to the Seattle-Times...
"I think somebody on this team might have girlish characteristics that need to be turned into a man. Because if we're going to win, we need warriors. We don't need girls. Girls are for the dance team."
Fortson also said "he wouldn't doubt it" if there were a gay player in the NBA but hopes he's not a Sonic.
"That would be a bad deal," Fortson said. "He might want to keep that one in the closet."

No rebounders; no defense; one playmaker who isn't Nash. Doesn't look good.

Re: Congrats on Durant or Oden
Congrats, Seattle. I really do hope the Sonics stay put, because watching Oden and Durant led teams go at it 4x per year could never EVER be enough. The I-5 Rivalry just got a healthy infusion of adrenalin. Please keep up your end of the deal (Interstate).

Re: Congrats on Durant or Oden
Congrats, Seattle fans. Hopefully this will bring enough local attention for you so you'll get to keep your team. I think going from three teams in the NW (Vancouver too) to one in a matter of a few years would be tragic.
