In a long article about McClendon appearing in Monday's Journal Record, the 48-year-old acknowledged the financial benefits of Seattle's larger market.
"But we didn't buy the team to keep it in Seattle; we hoped to come here," he said. "We know it's a little more difficult financially here in Oklahoma City, but we think it's great for the community and if we could break even, we'd be thrilled."

Well... as they say, discuss!

How well is the Knicks Starters vs NBA Team Starters? 60%? 50%? 40%? or are we waiting to see by being optimistic because we have a new additional player in the Starting lineup that we assume Stat sheet record says he is better with this Knick roster than the guy he is replacing?

How about another?

And yeah, its not like we are terribly surprised. Most fans are wise to Clay's BS by now, so this news supports what we have figured out about his plans.

Re: *Ahem*
Here's a question - if the Sonics do move to Oklahoma, would they still be classed as a North-West Division team?
And won't that be a bit hard on other North-West teams (having to fly out for an additional however many games..)

...somewhere, a little piece of David Stern's soul just died. Every single owner should vote with their wallet on this move, so I dont expect the Sonics to be going anywhere.

Re: *Ahem*
what a ****ing sleazeball. I sincerely hope a resolution comes to pass that keeps the sonics in seattle, just to see this worm not get away with his god awful intentions.

Re: *Ahem*
Break even, eh. Part of me wants them to leave just so the entire country will realize what Bennett really is. He is a businessman that doesn't care about basketball. Thing is, he's not even a good businessman.

Re: *Ahem*
Stern and the other owners will not let them leave Seattle where they will make money to go to OKC to "maybe break even." Unless Bennett has dirt on every owner and Stern I'd expect the Sonics to stay in Seattle for the near future at least.

Re: *Ahem*
There were some mighty PO'd fans on 950 KJR radio today, including Ian who flat out called Clay a liar. Stern and the other owners can now see that Bennet is seriously lacking integrity, and I do not see them voting to allow him to move the team to OKC and hopefully, ecstatically break even for a couple of seasons.
