Re: An early look at the PG position
Luke is my choice for starting PG as well. Luke plays better when he is starting, and I think that Coach Hill messed Luke over by taking away his starting role last season. Last season seems like so far in the past, but I remember that Luke was playing well early in the season, particularly in December. Luke was not a consistent scorer, but we really need someone to run the show more than we need a scorer at that posotion. Also, Luke plays better when he is not playing too many minutes per game, say in the high 30's or low 40's like he was a couple seasons ago.
Besides, I expect that we are going to be seeing most of the players on the roster playing multiple positions. There should be opportunities for all the guards to get minutes - they just need to go out and show that they deserve the playing time. There will be times when we will see two of the "points guards" on the floor at the same time, giving us two good ball handlers and distributors who can either shoot, drive and kick, or pass.
