Veteran Romario scored 22 goals. Second was Robson (21 goals) and third was Tevez (20). Rogerio Ceni, the famous goalkeeper from FC Sao Paolo scored 10 goals this year(!) .
To sum it up, for me, Romario is best striker in the world for last 10 years.

Reminds me of Teddy Sheringham, although Romario was obviously a much better player in his prime. They are both at 39 years of age, and still playing professionally. Quite impressive to say the least. I was sad that Scolari didn't select Romario for his World Cup squad in 2002, he was my favorite player at that point ever since the 1994 World Cup. That's really when I began to actually get involved with soccer, and much of it is thanks to this Brazilian legend.

I don't share the same opinion, however i don't argue about his huge quality as a striker, but do you really think that he was better then (for example) Batistuta??

Well, yes I think. Batistuta is one of my favourite players but he has some 'holes' in his career. His plays in World Cups and his later years in Inter and in Qatar, for example. Look at Romario who is older and still wins 'top scorer title' in Brasil. Brasilian league isn't bad league at all.

In this year, he scores a lot of goals. But he had a lot of penaltys.

Fred was the leader until june, but he was sold to Lyon. He would have been the top scorer easily.

Romario had a lot of injury problems this year, but lately, when his team changed the coach, he started to play very well.

A month ago, he had 12 goals. But he was great at the end.



Tevez was the best player, and his team was champion.

But, Internacional is the moral champion.

We had some problems with a refree that sold a couple of games.

Every game from this refree was canceled and they had to play again.

Corinthians (team of Tevez), who lost 2 games with this refree played again and won one and tied the other.

4 points more.

In Brazil we think that this decision was only to help Corinthians. A team that invest a lot of money in Tevez, Mascherano, Roger and Carlos Alberto and have an obscure russian partnership (MSI).
