Re: Football Manager
After playing with the big teams for a while I'm looking to start off with a smaller team, not sure yet maybe Toronto FC or a team in the Championship, anyone got any recommendations for a good smaller team to start off with?

Re: Football Manager
I started off with Jena in the 2nd division of the German league and was woeful, lol we actually got relegated. Now I am in the search of a new job after getting canned because during the season I showed interest in other teams

I hate it when I get canned for that.

Re: Football Manager
I'm still playing with Nottingham Forrest. It's the 2017 season. I've qualified to Europe a couple of times, made it to the quarters of round of 16 in the UEFA Cup. Last season I actually finished 13th in the league though, but I've changed my tactics and I think I will be able to qualify for Europe once again.
Got lots of Brazilians on my roster, not many from England.

Re: Football Manager
I'm playing online with some friends, it's much more fun that way. If they only could combine the strengths of the EA version and the SI version ...

Re: Football Manager
Hey guys, I'm super late on this, but I've played every version in the CM/FM series since Championship Manager 99/00 and still love the game. My laptop can barely handle the game anymore, but I still play it with essentially no other leagues running in the background. My best game on this latest version has been with Leeds. Started out in League 1 with a substantial point deduction and finished 6th my first season. Then 2nd for promotion to the Championship, and then we finished 4th and won the playoff for promotion to the Premiership. Very cool to restore the glory of a club that was once on the cusp of being a big European mainstay.
My man, who came over to Leeds in our first season, was Bogdan Stancu. The kid is UNBELIEVABLE and all the european powers want him. I've done a good job of keeping him, but I'm at a point where I think I have cover if the right offer should ever come in. But Bogdan is just too vital to the team. 3 time top goalscorer, 3 time fans player of the year, and I think he's only 22 or 23.

Re: Football Manager
I used to love playing CM 01/02. I'd pick up all of the Super Greeks on my Liverpool squad and then dominate everyone ... haha I remember me and my friend used to compare our formations when we were bored in class. I remember Sebastian Frey was the God of keepers and managing to acquire Javier Saviola from Barcelona was perhaps the greatest challenge in the entire game.
FM2008 was alright but I never really got into it enough to play beyond a couple of seasons.

Oh yeah, those were the days. Who doesn't remember Dmitris Eleftheropolous, Kennedy Bakircioglu, Kim Kallstrom (who's legit in real life now), and all the other greats. I remember when I bought Ronaldinho from Gremio, and the kid was incredible; some of you may have heard of him in real life.
