What a stupid, stupid move. He's finally getting respect and now he transfers to Italy. I may have to change my favourite player chip to someone else...

In general, this is a good move. But not for the price range I've been reading. The guy is 30 years old.

van der Vaart (Hamburg to ?)
Where will he go? Hamburg has sucked for months and won't be playing in the CL - whatever slim hope they had of keeping him is gone. Also, Martin Jol is in talks about the manager position for HSV.

Letting Diarra go to Portsmouth looks pretty studid now with Flamini gone...

Also, Hleb says he wants to move because he doesn't like the big city life of London. Then he is rumored to be going to Milan, Barca and Madrid by his agent. WTF does he think they are? country towns?

Ben Harfa can easily replace Hleb, and seems like a typical Arse kind of player.

I don't expect a big summer for United. Would be nice if we snuck Benzema away from Lyon, but how likely is that you know? About as likely as Chelski getting Messi.

It's actually a lot more likely because Benzema wants to play in a big league and there aren't many better choices than ManU right now. It also helps that he can play as a striker and on the wings, would be a good fit and add even more depth to a already stacked frontline.

I think Benzema is more likely to go to Spain, probably Barca. I've heard that he doesn't really want to move to England, maybe he's scared of the rough stuff.

I'd love for him to go to Arsenal but I don't think Wenger really wants him or won't cough up the kind of cash needed to buy him.

Luka Modric
Dinamo Zagreb -> Tottenham Hotspurs around 16 million pounds
-great move for Spurs, Modric is widely considered the best Croatian player and a highly technical player that should fit nicely with Berbatov if he decides to stay. It'll be interesting to see where Ramos plays him, he's a number 10 but not a traditional one, more in the mould of a Hleb, Rosicky, Cole who all like to play in the hole. Though he could solve Spurs leftside problem, he plays on the LW for Dinamo Zagreb and Croatia.

Jose Bosingwa
FC Porto -> Chelsea FC reported 20 million euros
-this move sort've came out of the blue, since everyone was expecting Bosingwa to go to Manchester United. Add to the fact that Chelsea have Ferreira, Belletti, and their new Serbian boy Branislav Ivanovic. Though Bosingwa is definitely an upgrade over Ferreira and Belletti. It seems Chelsea have begun their policy of signing rival targets again.

Other than that there haven't really been any other major signings though Real Madrid have bought back Esteban Granero, Ruben De La Red and Javi Garcia after their impressive runs with Getafe and Osasuna.



Agreed about Hleb, though nothing's been settle yet, he is still an idiot for wanting to move. This is a slap in the face against Arsenal, he robs them of a transfer fee. If history is anything to go by, former Arsenal players have not played well after leaving Arsenal. Same goes for Flamini.

I also doubt Hatem Ben Arfa will go to Arsenal unless Arsene is willing to spend big which I don't see him doing. Ben Arfa will go for 25 million euros. Losing Hleb will be huge, they have been in this 'rebuilding' stage for at least 2 seasons now and losing Hleb and Flamini extends that period. Ben Arfa is still quite raw and it will take him a while to play the Arsenal way.

Steppenwolf do you know whats up with the Lahm situation? he's been constantly linked to Manchester United and Barcelona, and I would love it if he came to United.

Other than that there's the usual Ronaldinho and Drogba links to AC Milan, even Manchester City are linked to Ronaldinho which I will not be surprised if that happens.
