Re: International Friendlies for August
Germany beats Brazil 3-2 with a Neymar goal in stoppage time. Schweinsteiger and Kroos in the central midfield looked good to me. Also doesn't seem like Gomez at striker fits with this team. He doesn't move around enough for Götze or Özil. I think they need to go with Schürrle or Müller at ST. Maybe something like:
------- Schweinsteiger------Kroos------------ Götze--------------Özil-------------Schürrle ------------------Müller------------------ |

Nice to see Portugal-Luxembourg getting some props.
On a serious note, really looking forward to the US and Mexico tonight. I don't have high hopes for a US win, but I'd love to see what they come out with under Klinsmann. |

US 1 Mexico 1.
Shea, Agudelo, Torres looked good. Robbie Rogers has pace but didn't get to see enough of him, but there could be something there. Landon Donovan is probably laughing right now wondering why Bradley was the center mid for so long ![]() Oh yeah and the defense looked much more competent. |

Re: International Friendlies for August
So Germany basically went with the standard lineup, except Gotze instead of Ozil? And then Schurrle came on for Poldi and it seems like the goals started to fly, although I suppose Gomez coming off could have meant just as much. Interesting that Schweinsteiger and Kroos looked good, Bayern have been afraid to pair them together for the most part.

As for Kroos and Schweinsteiger, I feel that it worked well because the German team is always passing and moving around, while at Bayern it's just stagnant. Schürrle did help contribute for the goals but the removal of Gomez also helped. Gomez seems to be way too slow for all the guys on the team. |

Re: International Friendlies for August
To be totally honest, it should be Howedes. I'm not even sure that Boateng or Badstuber should even be above Mertesacker for the CB spot, and Mertesacker is awful.
Probably can't play Grosskreutz at right back. I guess now that I think of it, that's probably Boateng's spot. He's really the only other decent player who can play fullback, and he was okay at the World Cup right? |
