mvP to the Wee

Hopefully we can activate this board a little more. I was thinking of getting up to rank the goalies 1-10 and do a different position each week(unless we only get one or two replies). Final rankings will be based on who has the lowest average ranking(so if I guy is rated at 1.4, he'll be ahead of the guy who's 1.6. duh). This is something we can do each season and see how much better some players got and which ones regressed. First position up is GK. Give me your list.

I must admit keeper is really difficult because it isn't just reflexes, and I think a lot of the keepers at the top clubs are overrated because they are assumed to be great because they're at a top club. Anyway...

Alright, a few explanations.

1) I'm positive that most of you don't quite know how amazing Yann Sommer is. He is ****ing amazing. I'm probably getting carried away, and in a fantasy draft okay maybe I wouldn't take him #5, but he's the keeper I'm most excited about right now. I think his level of skill and maturity at such a young age is reminiscent of a young Iker Casillas. It would not surprise me at all if he leads the Swiss to a medal at the Olympics and eliminates Great Britain along with Shaqiri and Xhaka.

2) Yeah, I put Casillas over Neuer. I think Neuer is going to be as good as Kahn, but he does lapse in his concentration at times, which is completely understandable when you're at Bayern, but also the reason why Iker is better in my opinion.

3) Left some guys off that might be ranked highly by others, I'm thinking mostly of Victor Valdes, but there are others. I just don't rate him as much as these guys. There is an amazing generation of young keepers coming through and I think that should be reflected in the list. Hell, there's 3 or 4 in Germany alone that I considered, plus my boy Krul at Newcastle.

EDIT: Speaking of a fantasy draft, I did one on another forum last August/September. 20 teams, 25 rounds. Here were the first 10 keepers taken. I waited quite some time and ended up with Steve Mandanda and Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

I have ranked my 50 most favorite players in the world by ability. I have left out players that I don't particularly like which is obviously a lot. It's more like a draft board than a ranking I guess. Keepers aren't included, I think it's hard enough to get strikers and defenders in the same list.

Where are Buffon and Lloris? Also, I wouldn't pick Reina, Muslera, Mignolet (I don't even know him) and Sommer in my top 10. Szczesny is talented, but still very young and makes mistakes (EURO 2012!). Something similar as De Gea from Man United. I'd say most overrated ones are surely Victor Valdes and Stekelenburg.
