Re: 2012/2013 Bundesliga Thread

Holy shit. No, I want Guardiola. The only issue is how he would work with Uli and Sammer. I have been very unimpressed by Pep in the transfer market (selling Eto'o; buying Zlatan, selling Zlatan), but if he accepts the hierarchy that HE WILL NEVER CHANGE, then he would of course be amazing. Gomez wouldn't fit in though, but that doesn't bother me a ton. I think he would experiment with Muller up top which I'd love to see.

Yeah I would think Gomez is out, but we would make some serious money on a sale. Maybe have enough with the addition of other funds to get Benzema if there were ever anything to happen with him and Mourinho. Wouldn't Reus be a great fit at striker if Pep came, or am I way off there? Or what about Muller at striker and Götze in to replace Robben?

Liverpool, for one.

Reus would be the ideal Messi (well, aside from Messi).

Have Liverpool expressed interest in him?

He doesn't really fit with what Rodgers is trying to do at Anfield.

I remember they wanted to bring him on for a loan a few years ago.

Yeah, they've expressed interest in the past. Doesn't necessarily seem like a Rogers type of guy, but who knows. Gomez scores everywhere he goes, someone will pay for him. If not in one of the big leagues, somewhere like Russia. They could sell if they wanted.

Beautiful goal by Müller today. I'd like to try him out as the lone striker for both Germany and Bayern.

Been saying this for 2 years. Not quite sure if he's prolific enough to do it for an entire year, but then again maybe he is. He's sure scoring a ton this season.

I think it would work for Germany and I'd also try to find a way to incorporate Kroos. He has a hammer shot.

------Müller---------
Özil---Kroos----Reus

Re: 2012/2013 Bundesliga Thread

I actually think it would be better with Bayern because Ribery and Robben can pick up some of the slack in scoring goals. I think with Germany there's a real question of who is going to score from midfield aside from Reus. Then again, I guess you can say that tournament international play is just about winning, and you don't pick a guy based on scoring hattricks against shitty teams. I guess I'd only do it with Bayern in Champions League games.

Re: 2012/2013 Bundesliga Thread

Would you try and find a way to get Kroos in the lineup for Germany or not? Do you think he will ever be able to play alongside Schweinsteiger in the central midfield? Right now I feel like he's much much better in the 10 spot.

Re: 2012/2013 Bundesliga Thread

I agree with you. The only way is if Ozil or Kroos plays on the wing, and given that I also think Muller is an automatic, it would have to be with Reus as the striker as I think we have talked about before.

I think Schwein/Khedira is a good partnership, but Kroos should probably be the backup to both.

I know Low has experimented with 4-1-4-1 which could also work, but again you're either going to have to drop one of Schwein/Khedira or move Ozil to the wing.

It's a tough spot for Kroos. But Schweinsteiger is getting older, it wouldn't surprise me if Kroos took his spot in qualifying for 2016.

Re: 2012/2013 Bundesliga Thread

Can't Özil play on the wing? I thought he would occasionally when Mourinho played both him and Kaka.

The reason I feel like we need Kroos in there is because at the Euro's, we'd have great build up play, but when it came to actually putting the ball in the net, we couldn't do that. Now that Kroos is finally using his deadly strike, I think his scoring would be greatly beneficial to the team, while not hurting the ball movement(like when we have Gomez in at striker). Also what about Götze? I haven't watched much of him lately, but last year I remember saying to myself that this guy was going to be the best amongst all the young talent Germany is producing(though now I'd give that title to Reus).

It's too bad we can't turn one of those guys into a class left back

Gotze is really good, I just think Reus is better right now.
