Re: 2012/2013 Bundesliga Thread
Bayern had 3 golden chances at the end, but Weidenfeller made some amazing saves to keep the draw. 1-1.
Should have been a win though, ****. Wanted to see Gomez on earlier; Mandzukic was ineffective for... the entire game. |

Re: 2012/2013 Bundesliga Thread
With Badstuber tearing his ACL, what do you think about buying Höwedes this winter? He could back up the CB(4th option) but also be the backup RB(sell Rafinha next summer). Could he back up LB as well? I know he can on FIFA 13

Götze with a hattrick against Hannover. Really hope he finds his way to Bayern somehow.
Müller extends till 2017 and Huntelaar is expected to sign a 2 year extension in the coming days. |

Would love to see Götze, Gündogan, Hummels, Reus, Schmelzer, Bender. Looks like Schürrle and the other Bender brother will be making the trip with Leverkusens loss to Wolfsburg.

Re: 2012/2013 Bundesliga Thread
You are by far my best source for info about German nationals. At least this forum is good for something. Holtby is super interesting because he's really good and like 22 years old or thereabouts. I don't think he'll end up at Bayern just because I don't think he can start negotiating a deal until May 1 with a domestic club, but for a foreign club he can start negotiating on January 1. Now, Bayern are famous for tapping up players like this, but I also just don't see him as being a guy who could get into the Bayern first XI in the next 3 years, which makes the transfer unlikely to me, even for free. I think it's between Arsenal (a bunch of Germans, could really use him) and Everton (his English father is an Everton fan and raised him as a fan as well). Everton seems like a longshot until you realize that 1) there's no transfer fee involved and 2) Fellaini is gone for sure. If you consider that there's no transfer fee, even a very high salary for Holtby could pretty much be entirely covered by the Fellaini sale. The Toffees could make it happen if they are willing to break their wage structure, and as such I think they are the favorites even though it doesn't make as much sense as Arsenal.
People say Liverpool are involved too, but I just don't see that at all. Pool need strikers and while they could use Holtby, I don't think it would be a great fit for their system or in terms of ability. I think Holtby would find himself in a real dogfight with guys like Sterling and Gerrard. |
