Not sure how much Isco will cost but I believe Götze has a 35 million release clause, it'd be great if Guardiola is enough to lure him in. I read the Suarez rumor too, but I think he was next in line for who we'd be linked with after the Guardiola hire. Messi, Neymar, now Suarez,etc.. Don't think we'd splash out the money for him with Gomez. I actually think Pep will find a way to implement Gomez to his system. I'm just not sold on Mandzu as a backup, hoping Müller can takeover backup striker duties. He scored 2 goals again today, but just wasn't impressed once again. I hate Hitzfeld. I remember being about 7-8 years old and Bayern came into my grandparents small town for a friendly. After the game some of us stuck for autographs. Kuffour signed and took pictures etc.. while Hitzfeld just walked through everyone and if you were in his way, he'd bump you away with his shoulder. Don't think Isco makes it past this winter honestly. |

Re: 2012/2013 Bundesliga Thread
Well, Isco has an affordable release clause, so if he wants to go now he can go. I think the one problem is that he is cup tied, and in a sense that release clause is good protection for him. I think he should turn down all deals in the winter, play the Champions League with Malaga, and then announce his intention to leave in the summer and launch a bidding war. He's sure to have no limit to suitors, but all the top CL clubs are going to be a little hesitant with him cup tied this winter and Chelsea, City, and Spurs aren't in the CL while his current club is.

Re: 2012/2013 Bundesliga Thread
Hitzfeld has managed roughly 900 games with a win percentage of 54.4%
Sir Alex Ferguson has managed roughly 2,200 games with a win percentage of 58.2%. His record at United (1,500 games) is closer to 60%. Looking at what they have accomplished in terms of actual titles, it isn't really close either. Ferguson is miles out front.

They both have won the Champions League twice; Hitzfeld has made the final 3 times while Fergie has made it 4 (in more seasons). And then let's also not ignore that Hitzfeld was actually Fergie's handpicked successor about 10 years ago. |

Bild says Bayern wants to discuss the possibility of acquiring Lewandowski and Höwedes with Pep. Also there may be a Lewandowski for Dzeko swap. Nothing concrete, only rumors.

Re: 2012/2013 Bundesliga Thread
Pep probably likes both, but the problem is who will leave. You can't just add those two guys to the squad, you have to sell a forward and a defender, and I don't mean Pizarro and van Buyten.

Re: 2012/2013 Bundesliga Thread
I'm assuming for Lewandowski just find a taker for Mandzukic and rotate constantly between Gomez and Lewandowski. Petersen as 3rd striker.
Höwedes I'm not sure. Can he back up Alaba or not? Maybe get rid of Rafinha and have him take care of LB and RB and occasionally CB if needed. |

Kehl wanted to join the Chicago Fire after this contract, but Klopp is going to opt to take the club option so he'll have to wait a year before making that move.
