Re: 2012/2013 EPL Thread

So what do you do with the money you pocket from a Lewandowski sale?

Last season they bought Marco Reus for 17 million with a Kagawa sale in mind.

Re: 2012/2013 EPL Thread

Lewandowski's contract is coming up, which means they'll likely get under 20m for him. You can't really get a foreign STAR striker for that kind of money.

EDIT: Here's a crazy rumor for you all... Sneijder to Spurs.

Speculation has been rife about Wesley Sneijder’s future at Inter Milan and having been frozen out of first team affairs for much of the current campaign it seems entirely plausible that the Dutch international is set to leave the San Siro.

For those doubting the possibility of a move to White Hart Lane one would have to recall the North London club’s coup to capture then Real Madrid midfielder Rafael Van der Vaart in similarly circumstances, as Tottenham beat off interest from a host of interested parties to land the Dutch playmaker.

Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas could well feel his squad could do with added creativity having lost the aforementioned Van der Vaart and Luka Modric over the summer and therefore chairman Daniel Levy may well be open to the mounting of a move to capture the 28 year old.

Sneijder had an excellent start to his Inter Milan career, collecting a Serie A, Coppa Italia and Champions League treble in Jose Mourinho’s final season in charge of the Nerazzurri but failed to make as much of an impact in the following two lean campaigns.

Incoming boss Andrea Stramaccioni has handed Sneijder just five Serie A appearances thus far this term and watched his Inter Milan side greatly improve and currently occupy the second place spot behind runaway leaders Juventus.

A move to the Premier League may well interest the former Ajax man and the player’s wife did announce their intention to leave Milan in January before then back-tracking on the claim.
Im shocked. I thought for sure they where gonna go after Christian Eriksen from Ajax

Are Spurs really going to go for Sneijders crazy wage demands? Can't see it.

If they are hoping for a CL spot at the end of the year it think they would have to. The team has problem closing out games and Sneijders is definitely gonna help that problem out

Dempsey is starting to put it together at his new spot. Bale/Assou-Ekotto are healthy. Sneijders move is gonna make it so Dembelle can move forward and if they can get their Strikers in form i see a CL spot for Spurs

Re: 2012/2013 EPL Thread

And 12 million for Sneijders is a steal and should leave them some cash to go after a Striker since Adebayor is sucking it up. Its to bad Huntelaar resigned with Schalke a guy with that killer finishing ability could really help Spurs

They're going to have a little extra money from the CL this time, Edin Dzeko would seem to make sense if he can lower his wage demands a bit and Man City doesn't ask for 35 million again.

You pocket it and pay dividends to their shareholders? Reus was just one of those players they had to buy, young, talented, German, and proven in the Bundesliga. Not sure if there is a striker with those credentials they could get. Dzeko would obviously be good, I was always a fan of Lucas Barrios, maybe they could get him back? The former United striker Mame Biram Diouf is also playing extremely well for Hannover so thats another option. I'm sure Klopp will just find another gem from the most obscure place ever.

I read an article the other week where they asked Dortmund's manager if bringing back Barrios was a possibility and he said no chance, since he obviously lost his love for the game since he went all the way to China to chase the money.

Love it when City loses Too bad Chelsea couldn't do the same. Don't think anybody catches up to Man U this season in the EPL.

Re: 2012/2013 EPL Thread

Villa were dire last year, this is improvement for them. Lambert has done a decent job, believe it or not. 12-0 over 2 games doesn't lend any credence to that, but they were on a decent run before those losses.
