Re: 2012/2013 EPL Thread
Lewandowski is apparently close to a move to Man Utd. Deal will be 22 million euros, 5 million yearly salary. Dortmund may try to offer a similar contract to Lewandowski and see if he chooses to stay, but the Manchester move seems likely, according to Bild.
I really don't get that move for Man U. Are they trying to go with an 11 striker formation? There must be something in the Manchester air because City seems to be trying to do the same. |

Re: 2012/2013 EPL Thread
There's no way he's going to Manchester United. Those have to just be old rumors from before the van Persie transfer. Absolutely no chance. They can't even get Welbeck on the field and they desperately need reinforcements in central defense and midfield; hell, even Evra is likely to join PSG, so that's another position of need. I guess he works well with Kagawa, but Kagawa never plays either. The only semi-plausible way to do this would be to move Rooney into a deep midfield role and van Persie to the wing. Make sense? **** no. I'd expect Lewandowski at Juventus if they take their heads out of their ass and get a ****ing transfer done. Liverpool should be seen as a solid destination for him too because while it's a step backward for his career, it's probably about 3 steps forward for his salary. I could see a dark horse Bayern transfer too; it's no secret that Gomez is coveted by some wealthy clubs in England and I know for damn sure that I'm not sold on Mandzukic.

Re: 2012/2013 EPL Thread
No chance. We've played badly against 2 Champions League quality teams yes, but we'll be fine. Lambert is a really good manager and we're a really young team, that will lose by a few goals every now and then. It was tough to watch yesterday, but beat Wigan this weekend and that'll help us big time.
You can't sack a manager that's got us to the semi finals of the cup and very likely to the final. |

I'd love Lewandowski on Bayern. Sell Mandzukic away. Gomez said the other week he is fine being the joker if that means trophies. Apparently we're getting Lewis Holtby in this summer on a free transfer and then immediately loaning him out the first season. That's todays rumor over here. |

Re: 2012/2013 EPL Thread
He was very legitimately about 95% loaned to Liverpool in January of 2011 and they have retained an interest. The Chelsea stuff is probably just conjecture, but they are in the market.

Tottenham went 1-0 down to Sunderland but are really clicking now. This is why I don't feel bad about losing 4-0 to them the other day, they are really, really good.
Great keeper in Lloris, one of the best defences in the league in front of him, Walker, Caulker, Dawson, Vertongen etc are all class. Sandro and Dembele is my favourite centre midfield partnerships, two lightning wingers in the forms of their life, Defoe is clinical and Adebayor although in a bit of bad form is a good striker. If they could pick up a better partner for Defoe in January I'd be scared if I were a fan of the top 2 or 3. I've always said if you give AVB time he'll come good as the boss. Seems like they're starting to click at the right time. Watch them lose this now As I was saying though, we had Liverpool away, Chelsea away, and then Spurs at home. If you'd offered me 3 points out of those games before, I'd bite your hand off. It's a shame we conceded 12 in the last 2 but we're a young team so we'll be able to put that behind us. NEED to beat Wigan later though. Sent from my iPhone using Verticalsports.com Free App

Villa with a woeful performance. Didn't create anything other than one chance where Weimann was offside and Benteke smashed it in. He can score them but he's not even getting one proper chance anymore. Worrying. Before we were at least beating the teams around us. Swansea next. And then hopefully the cup semi final with send us on a mini run.
